Chapter Eleven
William hadn’t known what to expect when his friends had asked him out for a night of normal teenaged fun. Oz stopped to pick up Buffy and Faith on the outskirts of town after leaving his house.. William was somewhat anxious about the local nightlife. However the club that Oz had pulled up to, The Bronze, seemed tame enough from the outside he thought. William checked out the college kids hanging out by their cars in the parking lot, trying to impress one another with their tricked out rides and expensive fashions.
Tossers. Will thought to himself. This oughta be fun, Too bad Liam isn’t here. He’d get quite a chuckle outta this. The image of his usually stoic friend hanging out with a bunch of high school and college kids caused him to laugh out loud, earning a few curious glances from his present company.
“Care to share the joke, Blondie,” Faith inquired. William shook his head.
“Sorry,” he smiled. “Just thinking is all.” Faith nodded. She continued to look at him somewhat warily, but didn’t question him further. Buffy, ever the party girl rescued him from further scrutiny.
“Hey!" She all but squealed. “Enough of this crap. I want to get my party on.” She opened the door to the van and hopped out gingerly. “Last one in buys the first round!”
Having said this, the perky blonde took off at a run toward the club’s entrance with her sister close on her heels. Xander and Willow both groaned.
“Is there a problem?” William asked truly intrigued. Xander rolled his eyes, and nudged his sister’s arm indicating that she should answer for William‘s question. Willow giggled.
“Oh it just seems as though the Summers girls stepped out tonight on a mission is all,” Willow answered. William frowned.
“And should we be worried?” This earned a laugh from Oz of all people.
“Be worried, but not for us,” the usually quiet teen said. “Pray for the poor saps that those two charm tonight if you know what I mean.” William’s eyes grew wide at Oz’s prediction of the events to come. Xander gave his shoulder a squeeze and smiled.
“Those two girls can be down right scary when they are on the prowl.” William nodded.
“Speaking from experience are you?” Willow barked with laughter causing all three males to jump. Xander glared at his twin, who blushed prettily.
“Not exactly,” Xander mumbled, never taking his eyes off of his still smirking and now decidedly evil, at least in his mind, twin sister. “I just have seen the aftermath of their fun time and time again.”
William grinned and nodded as understanding dawned.
“Couple of heartbreakers they are ‘eh? Xander and Oz nodded. Feeling some form of female bonding Willow came to the girls’ defense.
“They aren’t bitchy or anything.” William’s eyes widened at the redhead’s language earning him another blush from the impish girl. “It’s all about having a goodtime. No harm, no foul.” William sobered a bit at this explanation.
“Yeah, a good time, right?” He said a bit too casually. “It’s all good long as no one winds up hurt.” Willow and Oz didn’t seem to notice the change in their new friend’s tone, but Xander who was currently in tune to all things William, knew something was up. He looked at the boy questioningly. William shook his head and grinned.
“Right then,” William smiled brightly. “Shall we go in?” Willow and Oz exited the van followed by Xander, and the quartet followed the girls into the nightclub.
The loud techno beat and strobe lighting left a lot to be desired in William’s opinion. He looked around for Buffy and Faith and soon spotted the pair grinding on the dance floor alternating from one horny frat boy to the next. He had to laugh at the sight before him. To him it was obvious that neither girl had anything other than a few teasing moments in mind with any of their would be suitors. He looked over his shoulder for his other friends. Xander and Willow were headed for a booth off to the back of the club, and Oz walked over to the bar to procure beverages for the gang. William was on his way to join the Harris twins when he was all but pounced on by a group of vampish females.
“See ladies, I told you that all the hot guys hang out here,” the obvious leader of the pack, a voluptuous brunette all but purred as she looked William up and down hungrily. “I’m Cordelia,” she beamed. “And that’s Harmony, Aura, and Tatum.” She pointed each of her clones out in succession as she spoke. William was less than impressed, but ever the gentleman, he grinned indulgently. He looked past the group of girls towards his friends for assistance. Undaunted the brunette took him by the hand and leaned in close to speak into his ear.
“Let’s you and I have some fun,” she said attempting to be sexy. Not wanting to cause a scene, William followed Cordelia onto the dance floor as she pulled him along. Once on the floor the striking couple gave Buffy and Faith a run for their money in who could best simulate having sex on the dance floor. They captivated onlookers with the way they seemed to melt into each other, moving as one to the pulse pounding beat of the musiarinaring from the speakers above. Cordelia’s entourage looked on enviously as their leader seemed to snare another hottie into her midst. Unknown to the pair in question, more patrons had their eyes on the gorgeous blonde and not the brunette diva doing her damnest to match his moves on the floor. Dancing, like sex, was something that William was extremely good at. When the dance was over, William lifted Cordelia’s hand to his lips, winked, and walked back towards his table leaving the brunette beauty swooning on the dance floor. As he walked past her friends he smiled, and then chuckled knowingly as they squealed and ran out to the dance floor to gossip with their heroine. Once he reached the table he was greeted with open mouths and stunned looks. Self consciously he shrugged.
“What’s wrong?” Xander blinked at him as if he was stupid. He grabbed his root beer and gulped a few times before belching loudly and answering.
“What’s wrong? What’s wrong you ask?” the boy all but screeched. “What the hell was that little display on the dance floor?” At William’s frown, Oz intervened.
“Dude,” he began. “Where did you learn to move like that?” As if on cue Buffy and Faith came up behind him and wrapped their arms around his waste.
“Yeah William,” Buffy giggled. “You sure can boogie.” Faith snorted.
“Excuse my airhead of a sister.” She snorted in disgust. “Boogie?” She stared at Buffy as if she’d suddenly gone retarded. “What she means is, damned that was hot!” Faith lifted her eyebrows up and down suggestively to emphasize her point, biting her lip sexily. “You so owe me a dance later.” William laughed.
“Your on, but first I have to visit the little boys room.” Not to be outdone by her sister Buffy chipped in.
“You need any help with that?” William looked at the girl much like Faith had earlier.
“I’ve got a system, ta very much!” Cheeky bint! He made his way to the rest room and went to relieve himself at one of the urinals. As he was finishing up, a well built, dirty blonde similar tmselmself in size stepped up beside him, and set about taking care of business. As William was tucking himself away, the man lean over and spoke.
“So how much for a blow?” He drawled lazily. Stunned William froze momentarily. He turned to the other man slowly before replying.
“Pardon me?” William asked almost inaudibly. Please not here. Not now. The other man stepped into his personal space, not bothering to put himself away,
“Come on Baby,” he crooned. “I’ve seen you out in the city. Don’t act shy.” He grinned. “You are working right?” He looked at William cynically. William took in a deep breath, coming to grips with the situation.
“I’m here with someone.” He answered gluing on what he hoped was a sexy smile. “Maybe some other time.” He walked over to the sink and washed his hands. As he was exiting the restroom, William could hear the other man’s muttered words.
“Count on it Baby.” William closed his eyes in despair. Fuck! Alright, mate. Don’t panic. Just go back to the gang and act like nothings up. He tried to walk back to his table when he felt a hand grab his ass and give it a squeeze. Turning rapidly he came face to face with his would be client. The man blew him a kiss and moved on. Fuck this! William reached into his pocket for his wallet and pulled out the fake id that Liam had purchased for him back in L.A. He walked up the bar and slapped down a five.
“Give me a draft mate.” He flashed his identification at the leery bartender who fulfilled his request with a shrug. William tipped the glass back, guzzling the entire drink down in less than a minute.
“Refill,” He stated flatly. The barkeep raised an eyebrow, yet gave him another mug.
“Take it easy on this one,” he muttered. William smirked, and turned taking his beer to his table. Once there Xander, and the others looked at his glass with pause. Sighing dramatically William rolled his eyes at his friends.
&For For the love of Christ, it’s just a bloody beer,” he growled. “It’s not like I’m the bleeding designated driver am I?” Willow frowned, put off by the peroxide blonde’s tone. Xander spoke up.
“Um, William, is everything alright man.” He asked hesitantly. “What’s with the Jeckle and Hyde act? Sensing that something was wrong Faith jumped up.
“Hey Blondie!” She said. “I believe you owe me a dance.” In a manner reminiscent of another buxom brunette, Faith pulled William out to the dance floor. Once there, the music changed to something slow. Pulling William close, and speaking into his ear, Faith whispered,
“What’s going on William.” Sinking further into her embrace, the teen hugged her closer to him.
“I’d rather not talk about it.” Feeling as if he was being stared at William looked up to meet the eyes of the man who seemed to not be willing to take no for an answer. He shuddered as a chill went through him. Faith pulled back and searched his face with genuine concern.
“What is it?” Again, William shook his head. She settled back into his embrace and finished the dance. Somewhat calmer, William returned to the table. He offered Xander and Willow an apologetic smile. Buffy reached over and squeezed his hand.
“You alright there?” Oz asked.
“Yeah, just nerves I suppose.” Xander laughed nervously.
“Well as long as we don’t have to drag your ass out of here on a stretcher ( cause there’s other more interesting things that I’d love to do to your ass ) it’s all good.” William laughed.
“Yeah Mate,” He said trying to convince himself. “It’s all good.” He downed the rest of his beer. “Buffy, care for a dance Luv?” Buffy jumped up readily.
:”Lead the way Buster!” William laughed loudly.
“Willow,” William said gaining the redhead’s attention. “Your next Luv.” He winked and sashayed to the floor with Buffy on his arm. Three hours and a few beers later, William was all but carried from the club by Xander and Oz. The girl’s looked on with worried expressions on their faces. They knew that something had occurred during the night to upset the teen but couldn’t figure out what it could have been. Buffy and Faith had their suspicions, but hoped that they were wrong. Just before entering the van, William pulled away from his two supporters suddenly. He leaned over to vomit. After emptying the contents of his stomach, and dry heaving for several minutes after, William groaned and stumbled over to the van, crawling in, and putting his head against the glass of the window. The Summers girls and the Harris twins’ exchanged concerned frowns. Oz, ever the steady headed person, started the van and mad his way to the Summers’ home to drop off Buffy and Faith. After making sure that the girls were safely inside their home, he pulled of and headed to the Giles’ residence. Once there Oz glanced at the clock on his dashboard and winced, 12:15. Wasn’t William supposed to be home at eleven? He looked at the house and noticed that the lights were on downstairs. Great.
“Um, William,” Oz began. “Dude,” he started only to be cut off.
