Trays of food had been brought to Willow the next day, but she hadn't touched any of them. Two of the trays had been cleaned up by a nurse, but the dinner tray was starting to get cold from its place on her table. She had been moved to an actual room with a door, which she requested be shut unless a doctor needed to come in or out. At around two, she had a nurse close the blinds and curtains before going back to bed. Unable to sleep without nightmares, she just laid there staring at the ceiling. At this point she was sure she could identify if there was a new crack or line. Willow groaned when the door opened, letting light into her room.
"How are you doing tonight Willow?" Willow grumbled quietly. She had assumed it was a nurse coming to check her vitals. But it was Dr. Parker, who she knew wouldn't let her get away with not eating.. At least not without a firm lecture. Willow rolled over, which was easier now that one of the straps had been removed.
"I'm doing amazing." She answered sarcastically, getting a frown from the doctor.
"Not hungry?" Dr. Parker asked, waving a hand towards the cold tray. Willow shrugged. {Here it comes...} "The nurse told me you haven't eaten anything today." Willow sighed, turning back onto her back.
"What does it matter? Can't you just shoot me up with some nutrients or something?"
"That needs to be used for patients who physically /cant/ eat. Like people who are in comas." Willow looked at the curtain when Dr. Parker came closer, pulling a stool to sit on.
"Then just leave me be. I'm not hungry." Willow shut her eyes tightly. Was there really any reason to eat? Sure, it kept her alive, but what did that matter? Everyone dies. It's not like anyone would have to worry about a funeral for her.
"It's my job to keep you healthy."
"I'm not your only patient, go bug them."
"They eat their food and focus on getting healthy. You aren't." Willow scoffed at that,
"So what? Just do some papers to get me out of here and you don't have to worry about it." Willow didn't expect her next sentence,
"Tara would be disappointed. She believed in you." The words made Willows throat tighten. {Don't let her get to you! Tara is safer away from you!} Willow clenched her fists at her brains reminder.
"..then she made a mistake."
"And why's that? Because instead of working to get healthy, you're in here moping and trying to starve yourself?"
"I'm not-"
"You pushed them away and there's nothing I can do about that other than say it was foolish." Willow tried to object, but Dr. Parker didn't give her the time, "You hurt her and the people you say you care for because you're so set on taking the easy way out of things. Don't make them have to find out you died through the paper because you were being weak. You have the strength to recover with time, i'm certain of that. But you don't WANT to, so you push that pain onto others." Willow was in tears by the time the doctor finally stood, putting the stool back before leaving. Willow covered her face with the blanket when her mind started to race. {If Kennedy finds them, she'll kill them! I'm doing this for them!} The other, hateful voice cut in, {Or are you just too much of a coward to face what's happened in your life? If you cared so much for them, why not just go back to Kennedy to protect them?} The thought made Willows blood run cold. She could never do that unless it was the only way to save Tara or the gang. She was certain that if she went back to Kennedy that she'd be beaten within an inch of her life, unable to move or speak for days. {Then just kill yourself.} Another voice cut in.
{If you die, Kennedy will get mad and kill them anyway.}
{Or torture Tara like she threatened before.} Willow scrunched her face up, clutching the blanket tighter as more voices raged through her mind.
"Stop!" She suddenly screamed, sitting up abruptly. Her mind had made one thing clear. If she died, she couldn't protect Tara or the others. So she picked up the fork on the tray, shoveling some cold spaghetti into her mouth while tears streamed down her face.

Tara hadn't left her bedroom since Willow had driven her from the hospital. {How did everything get so messed up?} She wondered solemnly, flipping the sand timer thing, watching the sand trickle down. She wished she could just go back to that day in the bedroom at Buffys place so she could dodge that stupid bullet. If she hadn't died, none of this would have happened. She wasn't blaming herself - no - she was blaming this cursed world. How could it give happiness to her and Willow only to steal it, then give it back for only a little bit before taking it away again? How could any sort of God allow the things that had happened? How could anyone allow so much suffering to come to Willow? Tara had known of her days in high school, before and after Buffy, enough to know those days weren't great either. Willows parents never paid attention to or cared about anything she did, and Xander was the only person she had until Buffy came along. Then she met Oz, and things went good for a little while. Then Buffy left after sending Angel to hell, and it had been quite hard on Willow to lose her best friend. To not know if she was even alive. Sure, there was Xander, but she couldn't speak to him about some things. It wasn't the same. Then Buffy came back, but Xander and Willow ended up kissing behind Cordelia's and Oz's backs. Willow had feelings for Xander long before this, so when he finally seemed to want her in that way, she didn't know what to do. Even when she tried to put an end to it, they ended up being kidnapped, then caught by their lovers when kissing. Willows own mother tried to burn her at the stake along with Buffy, and gave no thought to it after the fact. Things had gotten better besides a few fights, and then Veruca happened. Tara didn't like to think of Willow and It's relationship, but there was no denying how much he had ended up hurting her. Then when he came back, everything got complicated again. Finally, after choosing her over Oz, her and Willow did okay for a little while. Then the magic. Then when they finally got back together.. Tara had been shot right in front of Willow. Tara still found it hard to comprehend that she had died, but from what she heard, her death absolutely destroyed Willow. All the insecurities she had shared with only Tara, came flying out. If one thought about it, Willow had been falling to that point for a long time. Tara was her main source of happiness for a time, and the reason she quit the magic. Then Willow - sweet little Willow - killed two people, and tried to kill many more. Even then, Tara had heard Buffy talking with Xander about how the grief never went away. Willow was hardly the person she used to be - she was mostly hidden under a mask, as she had been her whole life. Then Kennedy. And now, Willow was broken into many different confused, terrified and guilty pieces.. And Tara had no clue how to help her. Especially if Willow didn't let her anywhere near her. Tara sighed heavily, shaking her head. All she could do was wait for Willow to reach out to them. So she stood to leave the room and her fears.

It had taken Kennedy a while to get back to where Buffy and the rest lived, since when she had Willow, she was already a ways away. Then count in the amount she drove to run and pit stops it was about a days drive. But she spent almost a week training and preparing. If she were to run into Buffy, she'd be prepared. A week after her decision to go back and kill Tara, she finally arrived at the hospital Willow had been brought to. It hadn't been hard to find out which one to go to. She pulled into the parking garage, opening her bag of weapons. She grabbed a crossbow, an axe and a small dagger. She slung the crossbow over her shoulder, the axe too, then reached down to hide the dagger in her boots. A man near her car screamed, seeing her weapons, turning to run to the building. She didn't hesitate to pull out the crossbow and shoot him down. Retrieving the bloodied bolt, she stared at the entrance to the building. Killing people to get to Tara and Willow wasn't off bounds for her. Tara had stolen her Willow, and both of them were going to pay for that. She was going to make sure of that.
