“Xander told me how you pulled him straight through a wall,” Willow said as she sat with Buffy.

“Are we back to his peeping again?”

“No, well, yes, but we’re talking more about you. About how you managed to pull him through a wall.”

“I was thinking more along the lines of supernatural.”

Buffy was quiet for a few seconds, “I thought we were just going to sit here and talk about all the sex you and Xander had.”

“He doesn’t have one. He’s just Xander.”

“You know it could get him, and you, killed.”

“I know, and I tried to talk him out of it, but he just doesn’t want to let people get hurt. Though it’s not just quite us. We have Tara with us as well. Do you know Tara? She can use magic.”

“She can?”

“Well, just a little bit of magic, she’s still thinking about whether to pursue it or not.”

Buffy sighed, “When I left LA, I thought I was going to be leaving this behind.”

“Leave what behind?”

“Well, into every generation there is born…”

Xander sat in the library waiting nervously. Willow had convinced him it would be better if she approached Buffy first. She was right. He was getting better at talking with Buffy, but she still responded to Willow better than him. It was hard though to just be waiting around.

He looked up hopefully when Buffy entered the library. “Do you know anything about vampires?”

“I know they are dangerous.”

“Anything else?”

“Not really.”

“They’ll kill you.”

“Maybe, but I just can’t let them hurt people without doing something.”

Buffy took a few moments to appraise him. He seemed sincere, and not just a guy who wanted to be a hero, but someone who wanted to help. “Tonight, meet at the graveyard. We’ll see if we can work together.”

“Great, we’ll be there. Though, uh, what graveyard. We have a few.”

Buffy mumbled under her breath, “Sunnydale is a really weird place. The one closest to the school.”

Xander let out a sigh of relief after she left. A few seconds later Willow came through the doors. “Good news, I take it.”

“Good news. Tonight we meet with her and see what we can do.”

“You’re really committed to this, aren’t you.”

“People are getting hurt Will, we need to do something.”

She nodded her head, then a smile formed on her lips. “You’re absolutely right and I think you deserve a reward for your good behavior.”

Tara pushed her way into the library and saw Xander sitting at the table, his head back like he had fallen asleep. “Hey, you taking a nap?”

Xander jerked up, “What, no, I mean, maybe. Sorry, you startled me.”

Tara looked around the library, “Is Willow here?”

“Yes, uhm, no. Well, she was around, but she’ll be around again soon, I’m sure.”

“Okay,” Tara said confused by his response. “How did things go with Buffy?”

“Good, good, we’re on for tonight. Not a date, hunting. Perfectly normal vampire hunting. You coming? I mean, not you cumming, will you be there?”

Tara saw the sweat on his face, “Willow cumming soon?”

“Oh, we can do a research partyy? That’s a great name and sounds like a lot of … and you were being sarcastic,” Willow said as she realized what was happening.

Xander kissed her on the top of her head. “Don’t worry, you were cute. Now, how do we find vampires?”

“Well, we’re a group of teenagers standing in a cemetery, the odds are pretty strong, and yep, there comes one now,” Buffy said as she spotted one moving through the graveyard.

“What do we do?” Tara asked.

“Willow, Tara, you watch our backs while Buffy and I,” Xander began as a few more shapes emerged. “Oh, he has friends.”

“That’s a lot,” Tara said as she began to look around.

Xander could see they were quickly becoming outnumbered. “I’ll try and distract them while…”

Before he could finish Buffy rushed forward. The first vamp wasn’t expecting that and she had staked him before he had a chance to get his defense up. She quickly threw a second stake through the air, taking down another. It took her a moment to get two fresh stakes. Seeing their opportunity the vampires rushed her from the sides, but she quickly stabbed both arms outwards dusting them at the same time.

“Look out behind you!” Willow shouted as one snuck up on her.

The last vamp tried to grab her, but the warning gave her time to duck under it's arms. She lifted it up and slammed it to the ground before dusting it as well.

“Phew,” Buffy said as she brushed herself off. “That was good teamwork, thanks Willow. Come on, let’s see if there are any others in the area.”

“Right, what she said,” Xander mumbled. He knew they needed someone stronger than a normal human, but he didn’t expect to be so outmatched.

“Don’t worry, you were cute,” Willow said as she pinched his butt as they followed after Buffy

Buffy sighed as she walked home alone. Xander and Willow had gone off, almost certainly to have lots of sex. Tara had said something about how the most important thing was improving Buffy’s skills and she was going to see what she could come up with.

That left Buffy alone and stressed. Hunting vampires was rarely hard, but it left her feeling all edgy afterwards. Not just good horny, but depressed and moody.

Buffy heard a crash from a nearby alley. She glanced down and saw a vampire struggling with a person in a robe, “Hey!”

The vamp took one look at her and started running. Buffy couldn’t even get it in herself to chase after it. Instead she just kept trudging on hom.

The figure being attack picked themself up and brushed off their robe. “Geez, I was actually just trying to give that vampire some tips. Don’t they know villians have to stick together?”

“You might want to try doing something for them then.”

The robed figure looked around then realized the voice was speaking in his mind. “I was wondering when you would reappear. I thought you didn’t take sides.”

“I’m not supposed to, but I have a bias in your favor. You can’t just let Xander control what goes on.”

“Ah, but you don’t understand. Villains make a common mistake: they tell the hero their plan. I haven’t made a plan, not yet. First, I wanted to see what the heroes plan is. Now that I know what Xander is going to do, I can plan out exactly what will hurt him the most.”
