Recap for last chapter:
-Angel and Lorne invited Spike, Xander, Dawn, Giles and Ethan to come stay with them in LA at the hotel.
-Willow says that she’s going to Cleveland to be with Kennedy and help train Slayers.
-Buffy crashes in the door and demands to know what is going on.

Now on with the chapter:
“I SAID WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE!?” Buffy screamed.
Xander backed Spike and Dawn away from the door and towards Angel and Lorne, whom were standing next to the counter. “Buffy, stay the hell over there and away from us.”
Buffy glared at Xander. “Are you telling me what to do Doughnut-Boy?” She stepped into the shop and shut the door. Looking around ,she glared at the sight of Giles being held by Ethan. “Why are your hands on my Watcher?!” She started to walk over to them when she hit an invisible wall. “What the hell are you pulling, Rayne!”
Ethan shook his head, “Its not me even though I would love to take credit for this one.”
Buffy looked over at Willow, whose eyes were black. “What the hell are you doing, Willow?”
“I’m protecting my friends from you, Buffy.” Willows whispered fiercely.
Buffy started to scream in frustration when she saw Angel, “Angel, you’re here. I knew you’d come help me. Help me get Willow under control. She isn’t supposed to be using her magic like this. She going to try killing us all again.”
Angel sighed and shook his head. What happened to the girl he left behind? “Buffy, I’m not going to help you get Willow. You’re running both of Willow and Giles ragged with all of your nonsense. You even tried to kill Spike. What’s wrong with you Buffy? What can we do to help you?”
Buffy frowned. This wasn’t how it was supposed to go. Angel was supposed to run to her and be with her again. They were soul mates. “Of course I tried to kill Spike. He’s evil. I’m the slayer so it’s my job.”
Angel shook his head and stepped around Xander. “Buffy, he isn’t evil anymore. He helped you save the world. And you repaid him by letting him starve to death.” Angel narrowed his eyes at her.
Buffy looked back at Angel and shrugged, “Besides, who cares about Spike. He’s not even worth the effort anymore.”
Xander snarled, “He is worth the effort. You are the one who isn’t worth the time and effort anymore. You aren’t even protecting the innocent anymore you’re just in this for the power.”
Buffy snorted, “At least I have power and strength. You’re nothing just like him.” She smirked evilly. “Or like he was.”
Spike stepped forward shakily, “You didn’t kill me you bitch, almost but not quite. Xander found me and saved me just in time. He feed me and took care of me.”
“Speaking of feeding what happened to all that money I’ve been sending you to help feed Spike?” Angel asked.
Buffy gulped. “I had to use it to keep Dawn in food and clothes.”
Dawn snorted and made her presense known, “No you didn’t. I had to get a job. You said I was old enough to make my own money and buy my own things. I was lucky Giles let me work here with him.”
Buffy glared at her sister, “Shut up! You have no idea what you’re talking about.” She started to walk over to her sister but hit the barrier again, “Willow, drop this barrier now. Don’t make me hurt you.”
Willow shook her head; “You’re not going to get the chance to hurt us now. We’re leaving you Buffy. We’re going our own way. After all, you’ve said on numerous occasions that you don’t need us anymore.”
Buffy shrugged, “Its true I don’t need you. Giles and I can do this by ourselves.”
Ethan growled, “No way in hell am I leaving Ripper here with you, bitch! When she said on your own she meant on your own. Just you and your power.”
Xander nodded, “Its how you’ve said that you want it so we’re giving you it to you. I’m taking Dawn with me. I will not leave her here to be abused by you.”
Buffy shook her head; “You can’t do this to me. I will not be left alone here. You will fight by my side.”
Giles, for the first time since Buffy had come in, spoke, “We will not be bullied by you anymore.”
Buffy stood there, gnashing her teeth and cussing under her breath, “Fine, leave, I don’t give a shit. And you can have Dawn! She just gets in my way anyhow.” She turned to leave but then turned back, “You’re not getting any of your stuff Dawn. If you go with them then you’ll have nothing.”
Dawn wiped her tears off of her face, “I’m going with them.”
Buffy slammed the door on the way out.
After a few minutes Willow finally dropped the barrier, “That went a lot better then I expected it too.”
Spike held Dawn as she cried, “Its okay, Dawn. We’ll get you new things. If you want to get a job now, that money will be yours to spend how you like. Xan and I will provide for you. You shouldn’t have to do that when you’re only 17.”
Dawn nodded, “I know you will help me, but I want my pictures of mom and my teddy bear that mom gave me. Everything else can be replaced but those are special.”
Spike sighed. He didn’t understand how Buffy could be so heartless with her own family. “Maybe Willow can get you those things with her mojo.”
Dawn turned to Willow, “Do you think you can try to get my stuff?”
Willow nodded, “Yeah, I can try. I’ll have to transport in and back with my magic. What does everything look like?”
Dawn told Willow about the pink box under her bed and the bear sitting on her bed. She sat down at the table and tried to think about something other then the fact that her sister didn't want her.
Angel walked over to Lorne, who was standing in the corner alone, “Are you okay?”
Lorne nodded and leaned on Angel, “Yeah, I’m okay. All of the sadness in the room is getting to me. Its like an overload.”
Angel nodded and held on to Lorne, “I’m so glad she didn’t see you. If she would have said anything about you I would have had to hurt her. I didn’t want to do that.”
Lorne nodded, “I know Angel.” He looked around the room at his new friends. Everyone was so sad and heartbroken. He felt for Dawn especially. He knew what it was like to be without family as he didn’t have anyone in this dimension. He smiled a little when he realized that wasn’t true anymore. He had Angel now as well as his friends at the hotel.
There was a flash of light then a pop Willow reappeared with a pink box and a bear. “Here you go, Dawn. I also got you your journal. I thought you might want it.”
Dawn nodded, “Thanks, Willow. I really appreciate it.”
Willow nodded, “Of course. I’m going to try and get a flight out to Cleveland tomorrow morning.” She turned to Xander, “I know your kind of full up, but can I crash with you?”
Xander smiled, “Of course you can Willow. You’re my best friend.”
Spike looked ales les and Ethan. Giles was clinging to Ethan like a vine to a tree. “Would you like to stay over as well?”
Giles shook his head, “No, thank you though. I would like to go home and pack something things. I want to gather some of my books that may be helpful in LA.”
Angel smiled, “That would be much appreciated. I’m sure Wesley will be thrilled. He has been itching for new things to read. I swear he has read every book we have cover to cover.”
Giles smiled, “He was always very intelligent. I always thought he had potential. He just wasn’t sure of himself.”
Xander looked at his watch and realized it was getting late. “How about we all go on home for tonight?”
Ethan nodded, “Yes, I would like to get Ripper home for some rest.”

After settling everyone in for the night Spike and Xander went to bed as well. Sleep didn’t claim them right away though. “Do you think going to LA is the right thing to do? I mean dropping everything and going there with nothing,” Xander asked.
Spike shrugged, “I don’t know. Angel will help us get settled and I’m sure there are a lot of construction jobs there.” He kissed Xander’s chest. He was happy that they had settled things with Buffy. He felt bad for the Bit though. She lost everything.
Xander hugged Spike close. As if reading his thoughts he said, “We’ll help her through it. We’ll try our best to make her new life better.” He closed his eyes and tried to relax and fall asleep.
Spike snuggled closer to Xander. He relaxed and fell into a peaceful sleep.

Lorne and Angel lay in the bed facing each other. “Do you think the gang is going to welcome the newcomers?”
Angel sighed, “I don’t know. Cordy probably will be okay with it. She was a member of the gang for a while. Wesley had been Buffy's watcher for a while but he failed with Faith and he didn’t fit in so he took off to LA. Things should work out. More people to fight the evils of LA.”
Lorne smiled, “Let’s get some sleep Angel. We have a long day tomorrow.” He closed his eyes and immediately fell asleep. All the emotions earlier had worn him out.
Angel closed his eyes followed Lorne into sleep.

Willow sighed as she listened to Dawn cry herself to sleep. She just didn’t understand how the nice young girl that she met all those years ago could have turned into such a horrible and bitter bitch.
She hoped that LA was where Dawn could start a whole new life. Be a whole new person. Closing her eyes she smiled as she thought of Kennedy. Morning couldn’t come soon enough. She would free of Sunnydale and Buffy.

Ethan tucked Giles into bed. “Close your eyes Ripper and sleep. You have to heal.” He watched a Giles slowly slide into unconsciousness. Sighing he laid down next to him. He spoke aloud, “Why did I leave you here with her? I’ll make it up to you I promise.” He laid his head down next to Giles’ and closed his eyes. He whispered before falling asleep, “I love you Ripper.”
Giles smiled in his sleep, “I love you too Ethan.”

Author’s Note: I think that this story is going to be coming to a close soon but I’m not sure exactly. I hope I didn’t disappoint anyone with this chapter.
