Faith walked into the kitchen of the Summers’ home and pulled the door to the fridge open. She reached in, pulling a bottle of water and a yogurt out. She closed the door as she stood, before tossing the yogurt over her shoulder toward the hallway. “Thanks,” Buffy said as she snagged it out of the air. Faith walked around the island and hopped up on the counter next to the sink. Buffy pulled open the cutlery drawer and removed a spoon. She leaned against the island and peeled open the container. She dipped the spoon into the container slowly stirring it. Buffy’s eyes never left the floor. Faith watched her for a moment. She opened the water and took a sip. She kept her eyes on the blonde while she drank. The blond turned the yogurt covered spoon upside down before putting it in her mouth. She slowly sucked the spoon clean. It flipped around in her hand and dipped back into the yogurt. Faith’s eyes followed it as it disappeared between the blond’s lips before reappearing a few seconds later. Buffy glanced up at the dark slayer just as Faith turned her head away. Her gaze dropped back down to the yogurt in her hand. Slowly she moved the spoon, mixing the fruit around. “Are you okay?” she asked quietly, not looking up.
“Yeah,” was grunted back at her. Faith quickly looked down at her bruised knuckles, then away from them.
“You sure?” Buffy looked up at her with concern in her eyes. “That was quite the fight you were in.”
“Meh,” was grunted back, “No biggie.”
“Faith,” Buffy sighed, “You were fighting six of them.” Her eyes narrowed, “Let me rephrase that, you were beating the crap out of the six of them.” Faith didn’t look at the blond, she just shrugged. “I would’ve been more than happy to help you know?”
Faith shrugged again, “I was handlin’ it,” she growled.
Buffy’s shoulders sagged, “I didn’t say you were having any problems. I’m just saying I wanted to help.”
“I don’t need any help.”
Buffy rolled her eyes, “I know you didn’t need any help, I just needed to kill something myself.”
“You staked that one,” Faith mumbled.
“He crawled out of the middle of that melee and asked me to stake him!” Buffy’s voice was rising. “He wanted me to kill him so you wouldn’t go after him again!” Faith shrugged, still not looking at the blond. “Faith,” Buffy said quietly, “Please look at me.” Faith’s head turned slightly toward Buffy, her eyes still looking away. “You actually ripped some guy’s arm off and beat him over the head with it. What the hell was going on?”
Faith’s lips turned down for a moment, “No big, just doin’ what I’m s’posed to.” She hopped down off the counter and tossed her bottle in the recycling bin. “Night, B.”
Buffy stared at her for a moment, “NO!” she barked out. “No there is no ‘Night, B’, we aren’t finished here!”
“Yeah, B,” Faith shrugged, “We are.”
“You don’t get it Faith,” Buffy grabbed her arm to stop her. “You scared the hell out of me tonight! I’ve never been so scared for someone else in my life.” Faith could see the tears in the corners of the blond’s eyes. “I think we’re starting to get close, to get to where we should be, and you do this? I just want to know what’s going on with you.”
Faith looked down at the hand on her arm, “Nuthin’s goin’ on.”
“Fine,” Buffy’s voice was cold, “You can try and lie to yourself, but remember, I know you’re lying.” She pulled her hand away and turned away, “Just go to bed Faith.”
The dark slayer stared at the back of Buffy’s head, she blinked and her shoulders sagged. “I’m sorry, B, I didn’t mean ta scare ya,”
Buffy was still staring at the blackness out the kitchen window, “Then tell me what was going on.”
Faith sighed and rested her gaze on the floor, “I was angry.” She looked up to see the blond turn around.
“Really?” Buffy answered, “I never would have figured that out on my own.”
“Fuck off, B,” she turned toward the basement door.
Buffy’s shoulders sagged, “Wait, I’m sorry,” she said as she turned back to look at Faith. “I just don’t understand what you were angry about. Did I do something wrong? Did somebody say something? I just want to know Faith.”
Faith looked back over her shoulder at the distressed blond. She looked at the door to her basement bed for a moment, then back to her sister slayer. Her eyes closed and she tried to calm herself. “Yer gonna go back to Angel and I’m gonna be left hangin’.” She stared down the hall to the front door, “You two are gonna be all lovey-dovey an’ everybody’ll be happy for ya. Won’t be long before yer ma starts droppin’ hints that I don’t need ta be here, and I’ll be gone.”
Buffy blinked, her mouth agape, “How do you come up with this shit?” She shook her head, “Are you listening to yourself?”
“Yeah, I’m listenin’,” Faith turned to face the blond. “I’m listenin’ to Willow yammer on about how perfect the two of ya are. How ya have the ‘perfect love’ and are goin’ ta be together for ever. I’m listenin’ to you tell me how ya love him, so that’s where I come up with this ‘shit’.” Her hands had come up in quotations around the last word. They folded across her chest, pulled in tight. Faith had all her armour on, she was protected from head to toe, nothing was getting to her tonight.
Buffy sighed and her eyes rolled back, she focused on the dark slayer, “For being a rocket scientist, you sure are dumb.” Faith’s eyebrows rocketed straight up. “Did you ever stop and think about what I told you tonight?” The blonde sucked in a breath, “Let me recap.” She held her index finger up, “I slept with him and he lost his soul.” Her middle finger shot out, “He killed Giles’ girlfriend.” Her ring finger made an appearance, “I ran a sword through his heart and killed him.” Her little finger popped up, “I sent him to hell, or wherever the fuck he’s been for the last six months.” She pulled her hand back and let it drop to her side, “Does that sound like a happy ending to you?” She looked away for a moment before returning her glare to the dark slayer, “Yeah, I loved him, or at least I thought I did. But then I met you.”
Faith could see the confusion swirling in the blond’s eyes. “Look ,B,” she started.
“No,” Buffy snapped, her finger pointing at Faith, “You started this, you don’t get to say anything until I’m done.” She stared at the other slayer for a moment. Pulling her hand back she closed her eyes for a second. When Buffy’s eyes opened, Faith looked into the hazel orbs again and she could see the determination blazing out of them. “I’m tired of everybody weighing in on who I should be seeing and who I belong with. It’s up to me to decide what I want to do and who I should do it with.” She took a small step toward the other girl. “I used to think Angel and I belonged together, but that was before.” The blond took another small step, “And then I met you.” A small smile creased her face, “You shook my vision of the world, tales of alligator wrestling and naked priests. You had so much confidence, so much bravado. I couldn’t be attracted to you because, hey,” she waved her hand between them, “We’re both girls.”
Faith grinned, “Really? I hadn’t noticed.” She looked at the scowl the blond was now wearing, “C’mon you can’t hang’em out there like that and not expect me to take a shot.”
Buffy sighed and looked away, “Your smart ass remarks at the most inopportune time didn’t hurt either.” She brought both hands up to her face and rubbed her eyes. Tiredly she looked at her fellow slayer, “When we shared that dream with Cordy, It flattened me. It made me feel things I’d never felt before, let alone feel them for two girls.” She walked over to the fridge and pulled a bottle of water out, “Want one?”
“Nah, I’m ok.”
Buffy nodded and tossed the top in the recycling bin. She looked at Faith, “That dream made me think. I realized that, yeah, spending time with you and Cordy didn’t seem like such a bad idea.” She tilted her head to the side, “It made me look at both of you in a very different light. It made me see that I like the idea of spending a lot of time with both of you. The possibility of taking this to another level? That doesn’t scare me so much anymore.” She tipped the bottle up and drained some more. “It gave me the courage to look inside and see what I really wanted.”
Faith was leaning on the island, watching the blond. “It had that affect on me too,” she said quietly. “I keep askin’ myself why either one of you would wanna be involved with me.”
Buffy’s brow creased in concern, “Why would you say that?” She watched as Faith dropped her gaze to the top of the island, “You were in that dream, you saw what the three of us had, how could you even think that we wouldn’t want you to be part of it?”
“I ain’t like you,” Faith sighed, “And I definitely ain’t like Queen C.” She held up her hand to stop the retort of the blond. “I’m damaged, some of it ya know, most ya don’t. That’s why I wonder why you’d want anythin’ to do with me.” She ran a hand through her hair, “Yeah, the dream made me think it’s a possibility, but how do I know the PTB ain’t just screwin’ with me?”
Buffy smirked; her tongue darted out and licked her lips, “You just have to have a little faith.”
Faith snorted, “You been hangin’ out with me too long.” Faith reached across the top of the island and picked up a piece of paper. “What’s this?” she asked as she read it. “Ya know anyone named Scott?” looking back at the blond.
Buffy’s face dropped, “Crap!” she whispered. “I was supposed to meet him tonight.” She sighed, “What does it say?”
“Uhh,” Faith looked down at the note. “It just says ta call him.”
“That’s not so bad,” Buffy replied.
“Til ya actually talk to him.” Faith’s brow furrowed, “Wadda ya mean ya were supposed to meet him?”
A slight blush crept up Buffy’s cheeks, “He, umm, he asked me to go to Prom with him.”
“Oh.” The paper dropped out of Faith’s fingers and fluttered to the island top. “Have fun.” She turned and headed to the basement door.
Buffy’s shoulders slumped and she sighed, “Faith,” there was a tremor in her voice. “Please let me explain.” The dark haired girl stopped but didn’t turn around. Buffy’s head dropped, “He asked me before we had the dream. I got so wrapped up I what was doing tonight, I completely forgot he had asked me out.”
Faith was staring at the door to the basement, “See? This is why I get so pissed.” She turned and stared at the blond, “I start believin’ what ya tell me, then I get this shit.”
“It’s not what you think.”
Faith snorted, “And what do I think?”
Buffy grimaced, “You think I’ve traded Angel for someone else.”
Faith blinked, “Lucky guess.”
Buffy smirked and shrugged her shoulders, “I’m learning how you think.” A smile crept into the corners of her mouth. “I know him from a couple of my classes. We’ve talked a few times, and I’ve seen him at the Bronze.” She took a breath, “He asked me to Prom Faith, not to marry me.”
“Yeah, but we know how all this high school shit goes. First he asks you ta prom, then it’s down the aisle.” Faith’s eyebrow slowly arched up. “Next thing yer livin’ in a trailer on the edge of town with six kids, and he’s taken off with the neighbor.”
Buffy’s smile widened a little, “Well he did say it would be a double wide.”
“Yow, B, he’s a keeper,” Faith smiled back.
“You could go to prom if you wanted to Faith.” She laughed at the snort from the brunette. “You do start school on Monday, so you’re a student now.”
“Ain’t happenin’, B,” she shook her head. “I don’t go for that kinda crap.” She sighed, “I guess Queen C’s goin’?”
Buffy nodded, “Last I heard there were several guys vying to take her, half the football team and all of the basketball team.” Faith’s shoulders sagged and her head dropped. “She’ll keep them all hanging until she decides which one gets the honour and drop the rest. It’s just the way she does things.”
Faith’s head slowly rose until Buffy could see her eyes, “Is she doin’ that with us?” she whispered.
Buffy’s brow furrowed while she thought about the question. She blinked, “I don’t think so. She seems different with us. I think we get to see the ‘real’ Cordy.” She took a breath, “I don’t think this is just for show for her. I think it actually has some meaning and she’s interested in pursuing it.”
“Just hangin’ with us or somethin’ more?”
The blond looked into the worried face of the girl across from her, “You said she told you to look up ‘wooing’?” Faith nodded. A small smile creased Buffy’s face, “She definitely wants more.” Looking up at the clock, “Oh, my,” she muttered, “C’mon, let’s go to bed.” She reached over and smacked Faith on the shoulder, “Take that smirk off your face. You’re going to your room, and I’m going to mine. I have to deal with Scott tomorrow and you have to research the ‘Box of Pop-Rocks’ or whatever the hell it is.”
Faith stretched her arms over her head, and groaned lewdly. She watched as Buffy’s eyes trailed the length of her body, a small upturn in the corners of her mouth, “Ya sure about that?” She dropped her arms to her sides again, “I could make it worth your while?”
Buffy snorted, “You’re impossible.” She stepped up beside the brunette and rested a hand on her shoulder. “I’ll see you in the morning.” Buffy tipped her head up and laid a small kiss on the girl’s cheek before turning and walking away.
Faith laid on her back in the darkness. She listened to the sound of a drawer being opened, ‘Gotta love slayer hearing.’ She closed her eyes, and imagined Buffy’s arms pulling her t-shirt up over her head and dropping it onto the floor. Buffy’s hands reaching behind her and undoing the clasp of her bra. Bubble gum pink nails lightly tracing over the newly freed breasts. Faith’s hands were tracing over her own hardening nipples as the scene played out on her eyelids. The bare chested blond undid the button on her jeans and Faith could hear the zipper as it slowly made its way down. She watched as the blond’s hands slid around the inside of her pants and started to push them down. She moaned as her imagination showed the jeans sliding over the back of Buffy’s ass, revealing the matching panties to the already discarded bra. Faith’s right hand slid down her stomach and her finger dipped into her growing wetness. Pulling it back up, she groaned as her damp finger circled her throbbing clit. The girl in her imagination bent at the waist exposing the heart shape of her backside as she pushed her jeans to her ankles. She straightened up and flipped her hair out of her face before stepping out of her jeans and kicking them to the side. Her hands reached up and roamed over her breasts again, the nipples tightening under the light friction. She looked at the clock for a second before walking over and turning on the bedside lamp. She moved to the bedroom door and locked it. Flipping off the overhead light she strolled back to her bed. She sat on the edge and pulled her socks off, tossing them on the pile of discarded clothing. She pushed herself into the middle of the bed before scooting back to the pillows. She pushed them out of the way and leaned back into the headboard. The blond slipped a finger into her mouth and gently suckled it. The digit glistened in the golden light from the lamp as it descended and circled a nipple. Faith watched as the bud slowly hardened. She bit her lip as she watched it travel across Buffy’s chest and do the same thing to the other one. Faith slipped her fingers into her sopping pussy with a sigh. They slowly started moving in and out, her palm rubbing over her clit.
On the second floor, Buffy laid on her back, staring at the darkened ceiling of her room. ‘She goes out on a big slay, and then she has to do that ‘itch’ thing,’ she sighed. Buffy could feel the weight of her blankets pressing against her chest. She rolled onto her side hoping to ease the feeling in her nipples. The tops of her pajamas rubbing them as she rolled meant that wasn’t going to happen. She scrunched her eyes closed, ‘I’m just going to ignore it and go to sleep.’ Images of a naked Faith cupping herself with a large smirk popped into her brain, ‘Or maybe not!’ She huffed out a breath, her thighs pressing together and slowly rubbing against themselves. Slowly she closed her eyes and thought of the half smirk faith used whenever she was teasing the blond. The way the light danced in her eyes when she was pushing Buffy’s buttons. How one of her buttons was currently trying to get her attention. ‘Well it’s not like I’ve never done this before,’ she rolled over on her back.
Faith groaned as her mind wandered over the blond on the bed. She could see the fingers on her hand circling her nipples and gently tugging on them. Her own fingers sped up and her other hand tugged on a stiffened nipple. Her chest heaved with shortened breaths, her hips rolling to the pace her fingers set. A light sheen of sweat covered her, doing nothing to dispel the heat rolling off of her. Against the lids of her eyes, Faith watched a hand trail down the abs of the blond slayer. She watched as they slowly slid under her panties. Buffy’s legs moved apart as her hand slid lower. Faith was groaning when she saw the material covering the blond’s hand begin to move. Her hand moved faster, pressing down against her nub, her nerves sparking, feeling the pressure build in her core.
Buffy squeezed a nipple through her top, images of Faith from their shared dream playing across her mind. The feelings buzzing though her body from the girl in the basement added to the pleasure. She moved her hand into her bottoms and ran her hand over top of her pussy. ‘I can’t believe, I’m going to do this,’ a soft moan escaped her lips, her fingers gliding over her engorged clit. ‘Then again, why not?’ her fingers started to move more rapidly, her hips flexing looking for release.
Faith felt a sudden surge through their connection that snapped her eyes open. She gasped as another wave rolled through her. ‘Fuck,’ rolled through her brain, ‘She’s rubbin’ one out!’ Her fingers sped up, pushing in and out of herself as her fantasy became reality. She could feel the sparks along her nerve endings as Buffy worked herself up. Faith felt the pressure building in her core as her orgasm approached, she squeezed her eyes closed and pushed hard on her nub. A tidal wave of pleasure picked her up and slammed her into oblivion. She sucked in a huge breath and tensed as a second wave rolled through her. “Jesus,” she moaned out into the room, “Sweet, sweet Jesus.” Her breath came in gasps as he shook in the aftermath. A trembling hand moved up and swept the damp tendrils of hair off her forehead. Slowly she blinked her eyes, trying to focus in the dark. It was hard with her brain bouncing off the walls of her skull. ‘I can feel her doin’ that,’ she thought to herself. Then the other penny dropped, ‘Fuck, if I can feel her then she...’ Faith sucked in a huge breath and a Cheshire cat grin slowly spread across her face. ‘Tomorrow should be real interestin’.’ She groaned as faint waves of pleasure pulsed through her. A smile lit up her face, Way to go B, I’m proud of ya.’ Faith rolled over and snuggled up to her pillow, closing her eyes to sleep.
Buffy’s hips jerked up against her hand and her fingers pressed harder as a wave of pleasure ripped through her. She gasped, her eyes rolling back when she felt her own release looming in front of her. There was another spasm when Faith’s second orgasm crashed into her. She pulled on a nipple, teetered on the edge for a moment, then plunged into her own orgasm. Slowly she blinked the stars away from behind her eyelids while short gasps helped to bring her breathing back to normal. ‘Wow... that was... wow,’ she sucked in another breath and a shudder ran through her. A smile moved across her face, ‘I wouldn’t mind doing that again sometime.’ Suddenly her eyes goggled wide open. “Oh, my, god,” she muttered into her pillow, “She could feel that!” Buffy rolled over onto her back and stared straight up, ‘She is so going to ride me for that, maybe I’ll just stay up here all day. Leave the window open and hide in the back of my closet. Leave a note saying I ran off to join the circus.’ She groaned again, ‘I can only hope.’ She sighed and closed her eyes, drifting off to sleep hoping Faith would leave her alone.
The slamming of a door followed by thundering footsteps down the stairs was the only warning Faith had before a gangly teen bounced on her bed. “You up yet?” Dawn squealed. “Mom says you have to get up, she’s making waffles!”
“Yeah, yeah,” Faith groaned, “I’m gettin’ up.” She scooched up a little bit in the bed, holding the sheets to her chest. “Now get outta here so I can get dressed.” Dawn bounced off the bed, grinning at the brunette, “Hurry up, cuz if I get to them first, there won’t be any left.” She turned and pounded back up the stairs. “You’ll be done after two,” she yelled up the stairs. The only answer she got was the slamming of the door. She sighed and stretched, rolling out of bed, she pulled on a t-shirt and a pair of sweats. She stretched her arms over her head and rolled her neck. Moving into an open area, she went through a short series of stretches to get rid of the tightness from last night’s fight. ‘Although that sharing thing with B did get rid of a lot of tension,’ she smiled to herself.
Buffy trudged down the stairs and into the kitchen. She saw Faith leaning on the counter and watching Mrs. Summers. She could feel the heat rising in her cheeks with the smirk growing on Faith’s face. “How’d ya sleep, B?” rumbled out of Faith.
The tips of Buffy’s ears were burning, “Better, after I relaxed a little.” She smiled when Faith spit up the mouthful of coffee she had.
“Are you okay?” Joyce looked at the dark slayer.
“Yeah,” Faith cleared her throat, “Wrong hole.”
Joyce turned to Buffy; she tilted her head as she looked at her daughter, “Are you okay Buffy? You look a little flushed.” Faith snorted and Buffy turned redder.
“I’m fine mom,” she smiled. “I’m just embarrassed for Faith because she can’t swallow.”
Joyce shook her head, “Fine, can the two of you set the table for breakfast then? I’ll have everything out shortly.”
“So, B,” Faith smirked as she laid out the silverware. “You slept better after ya ‘relaxed’ a little? Tell me what ya did ta relax.” She wiggled her eyebrows, “Ya do a little stretchin’ maybe?” She rolled her hips, “Coupla push-ups maybe?” She brought her finger up to her chin, “Thinkin’ about a band of angels? Yeah, I think that’s what it was.”
Buffy quickly peeked into the kitchen to see where her mother and sister were. Her arm shot out hitting Faith in the shoulder and knocking the other girl into a chair. “Enough,” she gritted out through her teeth; “One more comment and I’ll pound you into a coma.”
“Whoa up princess,” Faith dropped the silverware on the table, “I’m just teasin’.” She stood up rubbing her shoulder, “Take the twist outta yer panties.”
“Fuck you, Faith,” the blond spit at her. She dropped the plates on the table and stormed out of the dining room. Faith stared after the blond, wincing when she heard the door to her room slam.
“Faith?” Joyce asked from the kitchen. She was standing in the doorway with Dawn, “What happened?”
Faith sighed and shrugged her shoulders, “I was teasin’ her, and I mighta gone too far.”
“Duh,” Dawn snorted and turned to her mom. “If she’s not coming down, can I have her waffles and bacon?”
Joyce smiled, “No you can have your own, she can have hers later if she wants. Now go get the waffles and bring them in here.” She turned to Faith, “Are you going to talk to her?”
Faith ran a hand through her hair and looked at the floor. “Yeah,” she brought her eyes up to Joyce’s, “I’ll, go and see if she’ll come back down.”
“Good, it’s ready now,” she moved to let Dawn by before going back into the kitchen.
Faith stood in front of the door to Buffy’s room and stretched out her slayer senses. She could feel the blond on the other side. The connection allowed her to sense how upset she was. ‘Crap,’ she thought, ‘This is why I don’t do the relationship thing.’ She reached out and gently knocked on the door. She fidgeted for a moment, waiting for a response. She knocked again, “B, it’s me, I’m sorry.” The sound of the knock echoed down the quiet hall. She chewed on her bottom lip for a moment before knocking again. She closed her eyes and concentrated on her connection to the blond slayer. She could feel the embarrassment radiating from the other girl. She stared at the closed door, ‘I really fucked this up, now all I gotta do is fix it.’ She sighed and knocked again, “B, I’m really sorry, I shouldn’t a done that. I ain’t good at apologizin’ either, but I am. I’m sorry.” Faith shifted from foot to foot, her slayer hearing picking up the sound of carpeted footsteps approaching the door.
Buffy leaned her head against the door, “I know you’re sorry, it still hurt me though.”
Faith nodded, “Yeah, that’s why I’m sorry. I didn’t mean ta hurt ya, but when I’m bein’ an asshole, sometimes I don’t know when ta stop.”
“Not one of your more endearing qualities.”
“Ouch,” Faith’s lips curled up in a small smile, “Kinda harsh there, B.”
The door opened and Buffy looked at the dark slayer, “Kinda earned it, F.”
Faith nodded, “Yeah, yer right, again.” She sighed and looked into the hazel eyes looking back at her. “I am sorry, we okay?”
Buffy took a step toward Faith and reached up, putting her hand on a shoulder. She placed her puckered lips against an olive cheek, “We will be.”
Faith wrapped her arms around the blond and pulled her into a hug. She turned her head and placed her own lips on a smooth cheek, “Thank you,” she whispered.
“Whoa!” Dawn yelped from partway up the stairs. Her eyes wide, she grabbed the bannister for support, “What are you guys doing?”
Buffy turned red and buried her head in Faith’s shoulder, the brunette snorted in amusement. Giving Buffy a little squeeze, she released her and turned to Dawn, “I apologized and now we’re huggin’ it out. Any other questions?”
Dawn’s head tilted to the side, uncertainty fleeting across her face, “I’ve never seen Willow hug her like that. What did you say to her?”
“None of your business, Squirt, why are you up here?”
The teenager huffed, “Mom says breakfast is getting cold and if you want any, you need to get a move on.” She turned on her heel and pounded down the stairs.
Buffy smiled at Faith, “Wooing for Cordelia, and groveling for me, you are going to be busy, aren’t you?”
