Tara stared at the body, bile rising in her throat.
"God.." Xander groaned as Giles stood back from examining it.
"There are no visible marks, again.. But it seems everything in the area is scorched."
"Maybe its the smell, cause I might wither with them-" Buffy gagged. While the others stepped back, Tara couldn't look away. In the picture of the other victim, it looked similar to Kennedy.. But in real life.. On this body… it looked almost exact. Xander was right. There was no way this could be a coincidence. Someone with strong magic was clearly /very/ angry with Kennedy. And they knew someone with extraordinary power and many reasons to hate Kennedy. Tara shut her eyes, gagging as she imagined Willow doing something like this. {Oh Willow please come home.. Please come back and tell me this isn't you..} Tara pleaded quietly as she turned to follow the gang. But she knew it wouldn't happen. Willow was on the run.

Willow waited for about 30 minutes after the gang left before coming out from behind the dumpster, taking deep breaths. She felt ready to collapse after the sudden change in usage of her muscles, but she wasn't about to sleep behind a dumpster. Besides, the gang would probably come looking through here again at some point. But the real question was where to stay. She had no money on her. There hadn't been time for that. Willow hugged herself as a chilly breeze bit through her t-shirt and went up her pant legs. She wished she had worn a sweatshirt and jeans today. Deciding that moving would get her warmer, she started to hobble down the street. Glancing up, a shudder went down her back. It would be dark soon, and everyone knew what happened at dark. Well, not everyone. But /she/ did. So she forced herself to go faster, even though her legs felt like they would fall off, and her eyelids kept fluttering. At some point, she noticed a hole in a warehouse fence, so she slipped through it. It took some effort, but once through, she found the warehouse seemed to be abandoned. She went around until she found a beaten up door, pushing it open with a grimace. She pushed it back closed when she was in, coughing as dust blew up in her face.
“This whole ‘hiding out without money’ isnt as fun as it seems in the movies..” She rasped, sinking down in front of the door. She knew it probably wasn't a good idea to stay here, since it was definitely not safe. A vampire wouldn't need an invitation in, and other demons never did. Not to mention breaking in would be easy. But she was exhausted. She wasn't sure she could make it back to Buffys even if she tried - or even if she /wasnt/ being hunted by them as the big bad. {I just need to figure out who /is/ killing those women, and then i can go back home.} She nodded in agreement to her own thoughts, laying down and quickly drifting asleep despite the horrible draft.

Ace felt only slightly sated after last nights kill. The longer she ignored him, the angrier he became. And no matter how hard he had tried, he couldnt track /her/ down. Something suddenly collided with him on his walk down the street, nearly knocking him over. Of course, that was only because of shock. Ace wasn't so weak as to be knocked down with a small shove. He turned to snap at the one who had ran into him, pausing when he saw it was a woman.
“God, watch where you’re going!” The lady snapped, covering her phone as she did so, shaking her head before continuing on walking, “Yeah, I'm fine. Just some freak ran into me..” Ace’s lips turned up in a cruel smile as he changed his path to follow her, staying back a little bit so she wouldn't notice. What better way to calm his anger, than to kill again? You could never do anything too soon, after all. The lady turned off her phone after a little while, slipping it into her purse. Ace looked around for any witnesses as he sped up, closing in. Of course, had there been any witnesses, he could have taken them out easily - but who had the time for that? The woman turned when he was almost on her, jumping with wide eyes, “What are you doing?! Get away from me you freak-” He swept her into his arms, covering her mouth with a large hand.
“Maybe you should be nicer to people..” He hissed in her ear, “You never know who they might be.” Then he dragged her into a nearby alley, glancing at a piece of disturbed cardboard by a dumpster. {Damn homeless. They never clean up after themselves. You’d think they’d be good for /something/.} He glanced up at the windows of the apartment building as the woman struggled and struck at him, whispering something to conceal her voice, throwing her to the ground. She looked at him in fear, trying to scramble away. He sneered, freezing her in place with a wave of his hand. After freezing her, he placed his hands on either side of her head, pressing with a glare. She tried to scream for help as he changed her appearance to look like /her/, and he simply chuckled, throwing her down once it was done. His anger grew as he stared at that face, energy crackling at his fingers. Throwing his hands towards her again, she tried to scream in agony as her insides started to burn up. Once it was done, he let her fall to the ground, sneering at the corpse. “I would have done the outside too, had i not needed to send a message to her.” He spat, turning on his heel. The burnt ground crunched under his feet as he stalked away without a second glance.

When Tara woke up the next morning, the room she had shared with Willow seemed suffocating. The redheads scent still clung to the air and the pillows, reminding Tara constantly of what had happened. Shaking her head, Tara scrambled up and out of the room. Buffy looked at her from the couch,
“Tara-?”
“I-I need a-air-” She gasped, slamming the door behind her. Going down the stairs by two and bursting out into the fresh air, she froze. Following the horrid smell, she rounded the corner to the alley, gagging and throwing up on the sidewalk. Not only the body got to her.. She noticed the cardboard by the dumpster which must of hidden Willow the other night. Willow had been here.. And now.. There was a body. That looked like Kennedy - again. Tears stung Taras eyes as she finally came to the horrible conclusion. She turned to return to the apartment and tell the others, head low.
((Sadly, I agree Willow can't take much more. But somehow, I'm certain she'll make it back to Tara and hopefully be given the time she needs to recover. Even with everything happening, Willow sadly needs to push her other traumas away to deal with this.))
