Revelations
            Giles walked into the living room where Willow was casting her locator spell. "How are things . . ." He looked up to find a sea of disturbed faces. " What is it?" He asked.
            "We found another potential. Close by." Xander said.
            "Where?" Giles asked moving closer looking at the map.
             "No one answered right away, before Willow pointed at the small red colored light. "She's here."
             Giles kneeled down, "Well that looks as if . . . ." He paused now understanding the looks on the others faces, "The Vineyard." He suddenly felt ill to his stomach a feeling they no doubt all shared.
             "It's Annabelle." Buffy finally said out loud breaking the silence, "Caleb is married to a potential slayer. And she just bore him and the First, a child."
             "How could they not know she's a potential? Caleb and the bringers have identified and slaughtered hundreds of them all over the world." Spike said.
             "And not to sound to crass but they've both been inside her." Kennedy said. Everyone paused and turned looking at her, "Well obviously not in a sexual way with the first, but she's been married to Caleb 3 years and woman hater or not . . ."
             "We get the picture." Giles said holding up his hand to stop her rather graphic ramblings. "Chances are that her Slayer lineage hasn't emerged. Otherwise she would have been identified as a potential long before now."
              "Well . . . why haven't they surfaced. She's 18, most of these girls are younger then that. Buffy and Faith were." Dawn said.
              "Look at the situation." Willow said, "Where she is, her husband, what her life has been like, the baby. All of this has to be a factor."
              "You mean, the Slayer line just skipped over her because her husband is a bastard?" Xander said, "It seems to me like a little girl like her would need more power and strength than anyone."
              "She's still part of the line, but she won't become a slayer." Giles said, "There is no question that she would come down on Caleb's side and the power of the Slayer would be used purely for evil under the direction of Evil. She's far too loyal and devoted to Caleb no matter how much he abuses her."
               "Maybe they do know," Faith said as everyone turned their attention to her, "They've been killing us for months and potentials have been dropping like flies. Maybe they aren't trying to end the line so much as drive it in the direction they want it to go."
               Buffy couldn't believe they hadn't seen this before. It seemed so obvious now, ":With all the other potentials gone there would be only one candidate left to be chosen after they managed to kill me and Faith."
               "But she doesn't know it." Xander said.
              "And Caleb's not about to let her find out. It's part of the reason he won't let her live like a normal girl and keeps her on such a short and tight leash. She's devoted to him completely." Giles added,"But the slayer line won't emerge in her unless she is the only one left. It will go anywhere else before it chooses her. Unless she is the last."
               "Well then for all our sakes and the fate of the world, I suggest we stay alive." Buffy replied, "It's not Annabelle's fault and she doesn't know anything about it . . . but she just became another player, and she's on Caleb's team."
A Fate Worse Than Death
            "How long has it been now?" Caleb asked the Bringer that was standing beside him. He held up four fingers indicating four hours, "I think thats about long enough. Don't want her to go all hypothermic on me now." The Bringer nodded before walking away.
            Caleb sighed slightly, not particularly thrilled to have to return to such extreme methods but he had little choice as his work dictated his actions.
           Two Bringer's dragged Bell in by her arms as she couldn't stand on her own let alone walk and they dropped her to the floor. She was soaked wet and shivering from the cold, her lips were almost blue. Caleb walked over with a blanket and wrapped it around her hoisting her up in his arms. The two bringers disappeared and Caleb carried her over and set her on the floor. He kneeled down beside her and began to rub her body through the blanket to warm her up. Annabelle's teeth were chattering so loud she couldn't hold still almost frozen from being put in one of the wine vats filled with ice water.
            Caleb continued to rub her dry vigorously and color started to return to her skin as her eyes looked up a little, "Caleb?" She whispered. It seemed she'd been disconnected and unaware of what was happening until now.
            "You gott stop bein' so careless darlin'. Lot a dangerous places around here, it is a winery after all." He said. Her eyes blinked a little trying to remember how she'd gotten in there in the first place. The shock and trauma of being subjected to such torture disoriented her and made her forget she was thrown in by the Bringers. "IT's a good thing I found ya when I did, you might have frozen solid." Caleb said continuing to rub her shoulder's with the blanket.
             "Thank you." She whispered still confused trying to get her bearings and remember what had happened.
             "Come on, better get you outta those wet clothes before you catch your death." He said wrapping the blanket around her again picking her up and taking her upstairs.
             The sort of torture she was subject to was indirect. Caleb ordered it done to her instead of performing it himself. He didn't appear until after it took place and then he was the one who attended her and helped her recover from her ordeal. Making it in her mind that it was he who was her rescuer, her knight, the one who stopped the pain and made everything better. It was a very affective brain washing tactic he had begun before she became pregnant and Caleb fell even more under the firsts influence.
            Needless to say, Annabelle was a very last and confused girl, and she belonged to Caleb in everyway.
