...part 4...
Pain.
More pain.
Then some more pain.
It was basically a pain rollercoaster and Xander HATED pain. He hated it with a passion and what also was fucked up was the fact he was forced to be silent.
Not a sound.
Not a peep.
Nothing.
Whoever did this to him was going to go to hell feeling a lot more than he was feeling and in a doggy bag to boot.
The blackness began to receed and he was able to breath as the pain soothed, pooling at the palm of his hand where he was bit. It was like death and one can see the light at the end of a tunnel, well this was it, he was nearing the light at the end of the tunnel.
And then he was submerged in water.
For the love of - Xander couldn't help but scream in his head and break imaginary vases with the simple fact he had the worst luck of any bloke imaginable. Damn!
Opening his eyes, Xander didn't know whether to scream or have a heart attack. He was sinking, that was for sure, and there was also a floating body staring at him with dead eyes.
He noticed air bubbles floating up and realized they were his own. He had screamed, and was sure that if he were on land his voice would work.
Feeling himself hit the bottom of wherever he was, Xander knew he should move but those eyes, they were pulling him in.
*~*
Please no!
Screaming.
*~*
Prying himself away from the image that had burned itself in his mind he placed his hand on the slippery bottom to push. It worked. Using his feet, he proppeled himself upward, kicking his way up as he moved his arms to push away the body and help him reach the surface.
Nearing the surface he could notice that it was nearing night, the late afternoon color and half moon seemed to push him onwards.
Xander didn't know how long he remained submerged but by the ache in his lungs he could safley guess it was a while. Finally his fingers brushed the surface and as he breathed in the much needed air he knew he wasn't alone.
Pushing back the hair that was in his face he wiped at his eyes, they were stinging.
"Fuck."
Having his first good look around he laughed, it was just too much for him. Here he was, in a pool like outdoor structure where bodies floated, tinging the water red. Now he understood why his eyes had stung.
"Great. Just fucking great!" Xander took a deep breath and submerged himself so that he could swim under the bodies of the surface and pushing away those that were in his way.
Reaching what should have been the stone wall he moved aside a child and stayed under.
He knew there was someone or someones watching him and he wondered if they were demonic or humans. Deciding to take a chance he carefully pulled himself up, so that he could sit on the edge, legs still in the water; just ise ise if he needed to dive right back in.
Taking slow even breaths he viewed his surroundings. Behind him he knew there was nothing but wall, the reason why he swam in that direction. Facing him, he noticed three arches at the side of a long hall, where a single wooden door was visible.
Sliding his arm from one strap, didn't question how the bookbag he caught strapped to him, he placed it on his lap. There was on double door, he noted, where the middle arch stood.
Everything was of stone and the courtyard, an assumption of his, was kept in tip top shape. The vines and plants weren't wild, so someone lived there.
Keeping his eyes trained on his surroundings he unzipped the zipper enough so that his hand could reach in. Glancing up he took little notice to the size of the Mansion.
Feeling something sharp prick his finger he looked down. Immediatley he heard a whistling sound and was quick to move to his left. Not bothering to glance behind him, Xander was on his feet, moving. As he ran to an alcove, effectivley shielding himself from anymore of those attacks.
"Christ allmighty." Xander panted, hand over his heart. His blood was pumping and he felt all jumpy, sorta giddy. Licking his lips he rummaged through his bag, carefull to not slice his hand open.
Feeling the smoothness of polished wood he balanced the bookbag on his thigh. Pulling out, with little shock and confusion, his double viking ax.
"Well hello there Alfred." Xander murmured gripping it with familiar flexes of the wrist.
Rezipping his bag he made sure the bookbag settled comfortably against his back, so nothing jagged would poke against him.
