A.N. The book is written to it's last page, 62 chapters plus epilogue, and it's done. But don't worry, lots of room for one shots, stretching scenes out, secret scenes, secret dances, all of it, I've left it open. So it's not the end, just... the end! Xander and Jesse walked along the boardwalk, holding hands, deeply in love. They stopped by a fabric shop window and Jesse oohed over a pattern being displayed. “That would look so great on you Xander! I know, I know, I’m always one for buying high end labels, but that shirt looks so dapper and we’d tailor it to fit you!” He let go of Xander’s hand and smoothed his shirt, he pinched it in here and there as if he was pinning it, imagining he was actually tailoring the shirt.

“Oh come off it Jesse,” he laughed and brushed his hands away. “We bought that machine two years ago and you haven’t touched it since your lessons.” Jesse sighed and opened his mouth; Xander laughed and kissed him before he could say anything. “We’d buy the fabric, the pattern, the buttons, extra fabric because you’d want another one to match, so extra buttons, and who knows what other extras you’d insist on because you’re you and I’d give in because I’m me.” He smiled, and kissed Jesse’s nose. “And we’d have it all at our next garage sale. Come on Jesse, let’s enjoy the sun, you know I don’t like AC.”

Jesse grinned and ducked his head abashedly, “You’re right, you’re right, but that’s only because you don’t encourage me more. You know if you cleared off the work table to give me some room for my crafts, I’d get more projects done and out of shopping bags.... More pretties that you like to hang on the walls or give to friends. I know, not nearly as manly as the wood work or other construction stuff you do, but come oooooon, the table’s so biiiiiiiig,” he whined.

Xander laughed as they walked down the boardwalk, and openly squeezed Jesse’s ass. “Okay, deal. Let’s head back.” He guided Jesse back with the grip on his ass, which made the slightly younger man giggle as he walked, “Tonight, I’ll be done with my latest project, so the table will be clear. And I promise my next project will take up at most, half the table, okay?” Xander kissed Jesse's lips delicately, just as they reached the doors to the shop.

Jesse moaned and melted against Xander as a blue haired lady glared at them for blocking the entrance. They both chuckled and walked in. Xander sighed in regret as the AC hit his bare chest, making his brawny tanned nipples harden into peaks, and goosebumps pop out all over his skin. He wished he’d remembered to wear a shirt when he left the house today.

Jesse spun them around the shop, now giddy with new project fever, getting buttons, extra fabric, everything Xander had foretold. In the end, they’d spent a pretty penny on their non-designer label shirt, and had several bags from Fabrics Beyond to prove it. Xander just smiled and shook his head, stepping out into the warm sunlight once more.

Jesse laughed and pulled his hands, dragging him down the boardwalk. “Come on, we’re going to the café. My treat!”

“Your treat? How is it your treat? Isn’t it our bank account?”

“Oh hush you silly thing, I’m trying to sound spontaneous and you’re just putting me down. Now come on!” He laughed and pulled Xander down to their favorite restaurant.

Once there the host sat them in their favorite section, the patio by the pizza oven, with the best view. They sat and didn’t order, today was Saturday and their food was coming.

“How’s Willow?” Jesse asked him as he sipped his Corona Lite, squished lime floating around inside the bottle.

“She’s just great, yeah. Things have really pepped up there since Giles was proven right with that ancient prophecy translation that saved New York without anyone the wiser. It was a coup no one else could take away or say they did better, Buffy saved the day with him.”

“What’s happening with Buffy?” Jesse asked, buttering a roll daintily, pinky raised, even as he took a tiny bite.

“Oh, those visions are just getting stronger. Thankfully the demon in her is keeping her head from exploding, unlike poor Cordelia, but she’s not super sane outside of the visions... though inside the visions she’s pretty choppy so it’s hard to tell really.”

He sat back as his steak came into view, Jesse’s club sandwich in the other hand o the waiter. He dug in as soon as he was served, moaning in delight and loving every mouthful.

“You look so beautiful when you eat,” Jesse told him.

Xander blushed, and frowned, juice from the steak dribbled out of his mouth to splash on his chest, he looked down at the pretty symbols it had made on his chest. “Well, you don’t look half bad either, my darling Jesse. Gosh it’s beautiful out.”

Xander and Jesse sat out on the patio and ate their meal in companionable silence, playing footsie under the table. They giggled and gazed at each other lovingly, a long standing relationship having blossomed when they were just teenagers and it was good.

Jesse had been the brave one, kissing Xander in their treehouse while the breeze flitted through the leaves, making the sunlight dance across his beautifully tanned skin. Xander had gasped and put a hand to his lips, feeling the echo of the caress and closed his eyes in memory after the kiss broke for several seconds, which felt like minutes to him. His head danced with a tuneless song of excitement and possibility, then he'd leaned in and returned the kiss with a soft one of his own, and their sweet romance had bloomed.

Years had passed, always within each other’s arms and gaze, regardless of what their classmates or teachers or strangers said. Love was love, Xander knew that and he loved with all his pure heart. He grew like he never thought possible, never dependent, never needy. He lead the march against the Master and saved Buffy’s life. The poor girl had fallen for him, and had not taken kindly to being turned repeatedly down, but he loved Jesse.

They walked down the boardwalk, holding hands, swinging their bags of fabric goodness between them. Xander sighed with delight, the sun slowly setting behind them. “We should head in; sun’s going to set in a couple of hours.” He felt the sun caress his bare thighs and ass and almost pouted at the idea of going inside. He loved the very idea of being naked under the sun, walking down the boardwalk with Jesse on his arm.

“Yeah, if there’s one thing we learned in Sunnydale, was head in before the sun sets,” commented Jesse.

They turned around and headed back to their little smart car, walking faster than their previous leisurely glide down, eyeing the sun now.

“Don’t worry, we have time,” Xander soothed him.

“Yeah, but let’s not push things further than we have to; let’s go home,” Jesse said, holding Xander’s hand firmly. Together they double timed it back to their car. It was a longer march back than Xander thought it would be; he kept thinking the parking lot was just beyond that store, or just beyond that one. But the parking lot never appeared and the sun was setting; Xander started to panic. Jesse held his hand and smiled trustingly, even as Xander began dragging him, almost sprinting down the boardwalk, looking for the parking lot.

Finally, Xander found the parking lot, but the moon was high, a stiff breeze had picked up, and it was cold and dark. He got the car keys from Jesse and with fingers trembling with cold he got the key in the driver’s side door, but before he could unlock it he heard a snarl, and Jesse’s high pitched, panicked scream.

Xander looked up, and screamed in his own right. There was Spike, and he was lifting Jesse by the neck, his pale face twisted in cruel delight, then he was gone, dragging Jesse into the darkness.

Xander stood a moment in the empty parking lot, dumbfounded, and then ran after them.

“JESSE!!!! SPIKE!!! NO!!! DON’T HURT HIM!!! PLEASE!!!” He felt a spray of hot fluid hit his bare legs and he looked down at the pretty patterns it had made along his body, just like his chest. They all glistened and gleamed in the moonlight, making his skin reflect light and seem to glow. He stopped. Spike came out of the shadows, and slowly moved towards him; stalking him, not letting him get away, but not getting too close, making him suffer. Xander moaned low in his throat and swallowed, trying to back away from him, to get back to the dubious safety of his car, but Spike would have none of it.

He followed him with feline grace, until suddenly with a flash of shadow Spike was in front of him, leading him to his car, making Xander wonder if that was really the safest way to go, but he was almost there, and he had the keys in his hand. He looked down at his clutched fist. It was empty. He looked over at the car, and saw Spike was inside it, smoking. “Dammit, must have dropped the keys... oh Jesse... Jesse...” he sobbed.

Spike was beside him, “Damn lots of things, let’s damn you, wanted you since my sire first offered you to me... mine now... Let’s be damned together.” He lunged forward and his teeth tore into Xander’s neck tearing a scream from his throat, but Spike’s hand over his mouth muffled it.

Spike drank and drank, roughly rubbing his body against Xander’s, feeling him get hard. The blood loss soon drained that away; he was very grateful for that. Xander felt himself get light headed, felt sight leave him, felt touch leave him, but heard himself be lowered to the ground. He heard Spike cut himself, heard him hiss and press his bleeding wrist to his numb lips.

Then Xander tasted the blood, oh sweet heavens, the blood, that sweet elixir! He gulped it and grabbed hold of Spike’s wrist to get more. Moaning and sucking, swirling his tongue against the cut, feeling it close, even as he drank his fill, feeling himself drift luxuriously towards sleep.

He started to pass out, and felt Spike swoop him up. He tried to tell Spike not to smudge all the pretty symbols all the blood had made all over his naked skin, but he drifted out before he could say anything, feeling satin move against his skin.
