Chapter 3

The party was still in full
swing when they returned to the MacDonald�s ranch. Spike glanced over at Buffy
as he parked his car along the drive. She lo a l a little nervous but there was
something else on her face that he couldn�t read. He figured she was probably
thinking someone would know what they were doing.

�It�s going to be fine,� he
said, slipping his hand in hers.

�I know.�

Spike decided that Lindsey�s
father�s den with the nice plush carpet and the big fireplace on one side would
do just nicely. Hopefully the door had a lock on it. He stood up while still
holding her. Her legs wrapped around him. He saw something flash through the
window and turned to find out what it was.

�Oh, bloody hell,� he
muttered when he saw a police car coming to a stop in the driveway. �You said
your father is the sheriff, right?�

�What?� Buffy said. She
looked over her shoulder. �Oh, my god, it
is my father.�

She hopped down and started
to right her clothes. He helped her then turned her toward the door.

�Go on,� Spike said. �I�ll
be out in a minute.� He watched her leave then looked down.

Yeah, I�ll be out as soon as I can get rid of this
telltale bulge in my jeans so your father doesn�t know I�m trying to shag your
brains out and kill me for it.
