Whoo-hoo! Keep those reviews coming. Thank you all. You’ve been very helpful. I can’t answer questions about who William is going to be with because I want it to be a surprise. I hope that you won’t be disappointed.

Chapter Four
The man at the door pulled a handkerchief from his pocket, removed his eyeglasses and began to clean them profusely.
“I beg your pardon, could you please repeat that?” William drew a deep breath and looked to Liam for encouragement. At the brunette’s nod, William turned back to his uncle and repeated himself.
“Uncle Rupert, it’s me William.” He stood nervously awaiting the older man’s reaction. Rupert Giles was surprised to say the least. He quickly put away his handkerchief and replaced his glasses. He stepped back from the door and ushered the two young men inside.
“Um, yes. Do come in.” He looked around nervously trying to come up with what to say next. He took in the lost expressions of his two guests and inwardly cursed himself for his lack of hospitality. He directed the pair to the den and indicated that they should sit. “Please, have a seat. Can I get either one of you anything, tea perhaps?” He couldn’t believe how nervous he had become. He was usually very subdued and not so easily ruffled. Both William and Liam declined the man’s offer of refreshment. All three men sat down in the seating area. No one spoke. Finally Liam could stand the silence no more.
“Hey,” he began. “I know it’s not really my place or anything, but it took a lot of guts for the kid here to just come here like this.” He looked over at William who at the moment was staring down at the toes of the new black boots currently on his feet. Rupert followed his gaze and cleared his throat.
“Yes. I’m sure that it did.” He stated. “But I must say, I’m not at all sure what I’m to say.” He looked over at the boy sitting quietly yet looking so alone. He tried to say something to make him comfortable. “So, how is Rebecca, your mum?” If looks could kill, Rupert would have burned to ash where he sat. William glared at his uncle angrily.
“I wouldn’t know.” He sneered. “Bitch left me high and dry seven years ago. Haven’t heard from her since.” He sat staring steadily at the older man waiting for him to responded to his outburst. Rupert frowned and looked at his nephew with a confused expression.
“I don’t understand,” he began. “If Rebecca has been gone for the last seven years, just where have you been? Who’s been looking out for you William?” The blond turned his head refusing to answer.
“William?” Rupert used a stronger voice to regain his nephew’s attention. “I asked who has been looking out for you?” He looked back and forth between William and his friend in dismay. God, Becca. What have you done? His wayward sister had been a constant source of grief for his family over the years. The last argument that they had over the married man she was then spending her time with had driven a wall between them She had left with her young son and he hadn’t heard from her since, although he had wondered how she was doing from time to time. Looking at the angry young man across the room, Rupert instantly felt guilty for not trying to contact his sister earlier. He didn’t think that he wanted to know the answer to what William had been doing in the years since his mother’s absence. Liam had been silent all the while that William and his uncle had spoken. He hated to see the angry, hurt look on William’s face. He instantly left his place on the loveseat to sit beside William on the sofa. He pulled his friend into a reassuring hug, placing a kiss on William’s temple. Upon witnessing this tender display between the two young men, Rupert was taken back. He sputtered before speaking.
“Oh, Dear Lord.” He was once again rather flustered. Angry at his uncle’s reaction to the affection that Liam was bestowing on him, William spoke rashly.
“What Uncle,” he laughed. “Your queer nephew too much of a shock for your precious system.”
Liam was shocked at the younger man’s behavior. He pulled back and shook his head chastisingly.
“Will,” he reprimanded. “Knock it off. I’m sure your uncle just wants to know what the hell is going on.” He turned to Rupert who was swallowing nervously. Rupert made his way over to the bar and poured himself a scotch, gulping it down before acknowledging his guests.
“Can I offer either of you one?” William looked at his uncle skeptically raising one eyebrow in a look that Liam was very familiar with. He nodded as did Liam. Rupert poured the two men a drink. As he handed the glasses to them, Liam intercepted William’s glass before he could take hold of it. William pouted in indignation.
“Oh for the love of God, Li!” He complained. “Come on, be a pal.” Liam grinned. He was glad for the slight change in his friend’s mood even if he was now the subject of his wrath.
“I don’t think so oh Underage One.” He laughed. “No alcohol for you.” William sat back and sulked, folding his arms to his chest pouting. God I could just suck on that bottom lip. Liam pulled his gaze away from the boy’s face before his thoughts could further consume him. Rupert looked on at the interaction between the two with a grin.
“I’d hate to put a further damper on your mood William, but I really need to know how you’ve managed to take care of yourself over the years.” He looked at the boy and noticed that his whole demeanor took on an unsure tone. William looked over in silent question to his friend. Liam gave him a reassuring nod. William faced his uncle and licked his lips nervously prior to speaking.
“I managed to take care of meself.” He said with false bravado. Rupert looked the boy over, scrutinizing his punkish frame. He nodded, and placed his glass on the coffee table. He rested his hands on his knees and looked at his nephew. He had a feeling that he was going to dread the answer to his next question.
“Exactly how did you support yourself?” When the blonde dropped his glance in shame, Rupert stood as he envisioned just what could cause this apparently headstrong youth to look as if he’d like nothing more than to disappear. “Dear God.” He blurted. He felt his stomach began to roll with nausea. Seven years? He covered his mouth and fled the room. A door could be heard slamming down the hall, followed by the sound of the man vomiting. William wrapped his arms around himself and closed his eyes tightly. Tears still managed to fall down his cheeks. Liam pulled him into his arms and rocked him back and forth.
“Shhh Baby,” he soothed. He’d never before used the endearment on William, but somehow did not feel that he was out of line at the present. William brought his fist up to his mouth trying in vain to stifle a moan.
“Li,” he whimpered. “I don’t want to be here. Let’s go now, yeah?” As he pulled himself away in an effort to extract himself from Liam’s embrace, the front door to the cottage could be heard opening.
“So, as I was saying, Dr. Walsh’s lecture was rather long winded and…,” Wesley drew back in surprise when he took in the two young men in black leather currently occupying his sitting room. “Hello,” he said looking at the pair guardedly. “Begging your pardon, but just who would you be?” Wanting to escape further shame, William brushed past the man rudely.
“We was just leaving, Mate.” He looked back at Liam who hadn’t moved. “Come on Liam.” Liam looked at Wesley and the pretty, although a little skinny by his standards, brunette to whom the man had obviously been speaking before noticing their presence in his home. Rupert reemerged from the bathroom at just this moment. He had heard William’s words and spoke rapidly to gain the boy’s attention.
“You will not step foot out of this house.” Wesley grabbed hold of his girlfriend’s hand pulling her close to his side.
“Father, should I call the authorities?” He asked with concern, never taking his eyes from the two strangers. William was becoming more anxious to get out of there. Liam sat silently looking on as if nothing out of the ordinary were occurring. William began to shake with fear. He stomped his foot and pleaded with his eyes for his friend to get up. Why the fuck isn’t he movin’?
“Li?” he whined impatiently. Liam looked up nonchalantly at William. He shook his head and patted the seat beside him, beckoning for William to come back to the sofa and sit. William looked at him as if he were crazy, shaking his head no.
“William sit down beside your friend.” Rupert said flatly. His tone allowed for no argument. He expected to be obeyed. Wesley looked at the nervous blonde with curious eyes. He released his girlfriend’s hand and stepped closer to the obviously scared boy. William backed up a bit, not knowing what to expect.
“William,” Wesley asked. “As in Cousin William?” He took in the platinum curls and the pale appearance. The boy’s fingernails were smudged with backish, ish, but had been bitten down to their quicks. He wore a leather motorcycle jacket and black combat boots which were obviously brand new. His skin tight black jeans and form fitting t-shirt promised a lean frame underneath. Wesley shuddered. The boy was sex on feet, walking trouble for sure. Rupert nodded at his son’s assessment.
“Yes, son,” he said in the same straight forward tone. “This is your long lost Cousin William.” He made eye contact with the young man. “He’s going to be staying with us for a while.”
Well, what do you think. The plot thickens. But you guys know the rules. I want reviews before I submit another chapter.
