Chapter One:
"Can't help it, Groo," She sighed heavily before looking up at him, "Guess I got it from Papa."
Groo snorted. Katie buried her face into her boyfriend's chest once more, enjoying the warmth and taking in the half demon's scent. Groo leaned his head on Katie's and the two of them just stayed like that for a while. Connor lifted his head to look at the too when Groo snorted, hearing everything they were, or had been, saying. Connor knew that with all the kids with them and being stuck in a building, where if you made too much noise, the sumbitches that were out to kill you would come for you. And because of that, Groo and Katie hadn't got any real time alone anymore.
They were all on their way to Lorne's Sanctuary in Los Angeles, hoping that they would get there in time. Connor made sure that Danya, Will and Alex were watching the younger kids before walking over to Groo and Katie.
"If Dad's directions were right, we should be there by morning if we push it," He told them, speaking softly.
Groo lifted his head and Katie straightened herself, turning in Groo's arms to face her big brother.
"I'm just hoping that the kidlets can make it," Katie admitted it, "Danny's been having trouble again, especially with his leg as bad as it is."
Daniel had been jumped a few days previous and his leg was broken, not to mention slashed up. The only thing keeping him from dying of an infection was Abby and Kendra's blood donations. Groo had fixed his leg excedingly well with what they had, but Daniel would still get sick from time to time because of it. It was something they couldn't do anything about since they had no medicines to give him. Connor popped his neck.
"It's about time for a supply run," He told them, speaking softly so that the 'younger' scrappies wouldn't hear them.
Katie cocked her head, "I can take Danya with me to the abandoned hospital, get some proper shit for Danny."
Groo tightened his grip around Katie just a little, "Then take Mordred with you as well...please..."
Katie turned in Groo's arms, reached up and tucked his hair behind him, cupped his cheeks and kissed him softly.
"I'd take Dred and Danya."

Katie, Mordred and Danya stopped by a sports store and grabbed a bunch of packs and duffles, stuffing a few packs with hunting gear before they stopped at the hospital, which conveniently had an ambulance in the emergency room parking lot. Danya hotwired it and pulled it around back, in the shadows, where they could pack a lot more into it. The packs with the hunting gear was put in the back of the ambulance, where all the packs and duffels would be put. Mordred had spotted an abandoned city bus nearby which he suggsted they use to transport the kids. And Katie found a large school bus which would be used to carry food, clothes, gasoline and the like. All three vehicles were pulled into the bay.
The three cannibalized the entire building, from bottom to top, every single floor, every single room. Especially the cafeteria. They had been surprised by how much was left behind and how well it had kept. When they were done and everything was packed in the ambulance and buses, they made their way back to the building.
"Con, Groo, get the kids outside," Katie called after running into the room. She scooped up Kendra, let Will put Daniel on her back, and walked right out of the room. The two men just looked at each other, shrugged and did as she asked.
They looked on in awe when they saw the ambulance and buses. The rest of the kids were packed on the city bus while Katie had Daniel in the back of the ambulance, using her Papa's Soldier memories to take care of him. Groo walked up behind her after putting Jordan on the bus, putting his arms around her waist.
