Spike was bored. No one seemed to understand his need for entertainment. Maybe he was just conceded but sometimes he just wanted to sit and be entertained by everyone around him. But then again, who wouldn’t want to just be entertained? So when he walked into the club, Spike first went to the bar and grabbed a drink. Normally sitting at a bar would be the last place he would stay, to stay comfortable one would have to have his back to the crowd. But tonight…….ah tonight, Spike heard something that kept his ears attuned. Not his eyes. Her back was to him. Her voice was harsh from too many drinks. Her head, full of blond hair that had to come close to her ass, shook as she told her tale to a wide eyed redhead.
He became enraptured of her tale of loss and hope. He was surprised of the way she spoke of her dead mother. What kind of woman could speak of her mother’s death so…so unflappably? So coolly. As though the death wasn’t what mattered it was the words she left behind. When she came to her dilemma Spike almost chuckled. So far from what she had said, her mother was right on so many things. How could she play with the fates that way?
There was one thing in life that Spike believed in. And that was dead woman don’t lie.
"Maybe there is something I have to learn about number six. Mom gave me more details on number six than any other guy. She said he would be wild. He would drive me crazy. He would be bad, and yet kind. Mom said that with six I would feel like I couldn’t spend a second without him. I don’t know if she was trying to warn me on this one or what. But I know that I have to find number six before I can even think about dating Angel.
So what do you think? You know anyone who will drive me wild and break my heart? Cause I really want to find him and find him fast."
Spike’s words surprised even himself. "If she can’t, I am sure I can."
"You could find me a guy like that."
"Goldilocks, I am that man." Spike found himself reaching for her before he realized. Her hair felt like silk against his hand. He kissed her. He didn’t have time to explore her mouth in a way that Spike felt those lips deserved. Looking at her from behind, he knew she had a nice body. She was a little shorter than his normal tastes. A little blonder. A little less manicured. A little less woman, if he were being honest.
But… and he knew she had a nice butt, from her story Spike knew she could provide a few days, maybe even weeks of entertainment. Which was why Spike was happy to note that she was indeed a beautiful woman. He wondered briefly if she would be just as gorgeous when she wasn’t scowling. Maybe he would take the time to find out.
Spike did chuckle at that. Which only made her frown harder.
"And what was that for? Is my life funny to you?" He noticed she had green eyes. Spike wondered if they were fake. He was sure the hair color was. But since platinum blond isn’t his natural color who was he to complain?
"Silly little girls are quite funny to me. But tell you what." Spike reached into his black duster and pulled out a pen. He wasn’t sure why he had placed it in his pocket. Spike never carried a pen with him. Grabbing her hand, Spike saw her fingernails were short. This was a girl who was full of function and form. They were painted a pale peach. No nonsense, but a little girlish. He found himself liking that. Spike bowed his head, and gave each finger tip a small kiss. Hardly even touching his lips to each one, before carefully licking her palm. As his tongue caressed the skin, Spike eyes held hers. While she was trying to compose herself, Spike wrote his name and number under the wet line his tongue left behind.
Before she could protest, Spike was off the stool and throwing ont onto the bar. "Xander!" He called to the bar tender. "The next round for my new girl and her friend are on me." He turned to the blond. "What is your name, pet?"
She didn’t want to answer. She wanted to wipe her hand on the nearest napkin, and tell him to go to hell. She opened her mouth to say just that. "Buffy."
Damn.
He smiled. Buffy was pulled into his eyes as though she was pray facing her greatest foe. "Well, Buffy. Tell you what. I think I could be a great numsix.six. So when you’re ready to." His tongue pushed on his front teeth. She couldn’t seem to take her eyes off his mouth. She was trapped. "To learn all you can from me, give me a call."
And then he was gone.
Buffy glanced at her hand. 7 numbers andetteetters.
William
555-1542
"Ok I think that was the strangest pick up line I have ever heard." Buffy turned on her bar stool. Willow still had a smack glued look on her face. "I feel like I should be saying ‘Who was that masked man’." Buffy felt her nod in response.
It was too unreal…… too surreal…. too real.
She looked at her hand one more time.
Seven numbers
Seven letters
Didn’t that mean something?
