Chapter 18: Clem�s Turn
Chapter 18: Clem’s Turn
They were all sitting on the living room. Clem in the place of honor between the sisters.
Angel had deposited the vampiress in a chair in a corner, she remained tied and gagged. She was silent, though, listening to the conversation.
Buffy and Dawn were explaining how they knew Clem and also relating the latest events to the new comers.
Angel wasn’t happy, everyone was paying too much attention to the demon, Xander had even rushed into the kitchen and placed some snacks in the table in front of Clem, mentioning how he had found some of the demon’s favorites.
After the explanation, Buffy turned to Clem. “Why did you needed to see us, Clem, is there any problem”.
The big demon smiled “Well, yes, you seem to have it under control, though”.
Dawn was curious, “But how did you know?”
“I didn’t know, well... nothing specific, anyway. I had planned to come either way because I have something for you. But then I heard that Drussilla was coming here, and that had to mean something was wrong”.
He then turned to the vampiress, as if he had just realized she was there. “Oh my God!”
He got up and rushed to her side, reaching for the ropes holding her wrists.
Angel tried to stop him but Buffy told him not to. In a second, Clem had cut the ropes with his sharp nails and taken the tape of her mouth.
“I’m so sorry, I should have realized sooner, are you alright?”
“I’m fine Clem, thank you”.
Everyone was surprised, Clem was helping Drussilla to her feet and treating her almost with deference. He took her to one of the sofas, and sat her down, asking if she needed anything.
That was a little to much for Xander, who asked. “Someone understands what’s going on?”
Buffy was watching Clem hovering near Drussilla with the same puzzle expression as the others. “No, not really. Clem, what’s this about?”
Before he could answer, Drussila gestured towards Angel, a very pissed expression on her face. “This ape found me when I was on my way here and without a word he tussled me like a package and brought me with him”.
At her words, Clem gave Angel a very angry look. “You have no respect!”
He turned to Buffy. “As I said, I was planning to come here very soon. To give you something. But Sleader is a friend, and when he mentioned that Drussilla was on her way here I asked Dawn for directions so I could come and help. I knew she would only be coming here if someone was in trouble”.
Dawn wanted to know about the demon’s first statement. “You have something for Buffy?”
“Well, for Buffy, you and the watcher. I wanted to come sooner, but I couldn’t. I’m sorry about that. I have something from Spike”.
“From Spike?” Buffy was confused.
“Yes, he send something to me a few days after I left Sunnydale. He send it to my aunt’s, so I just found out a little while ago”.
“What is it?”
Angel was growing impatient. “Can’t this wait, there are other things we should be paying attention to”.He said pointing to Drussilla, who looked at him angrily.
“No it can’t. Go ahead Clem, the rest of the explanations can wait for a later moment”.
She turned to Buffy, “I mean you no harm, and I’ll explain everything after Clem has delivered his messages”.
She smiled at the demon. “I’ll like to hear it as well. But if you don’t mind, it would be a good idea to draw the drapes, as the sun is coming up” she finished, turning to Buffy again.
Buffy looked at the vampiress with gratitude, she really wanted to know what Clem had for them, she looked at Willow, who was close to the window and the witch closed the drapes. Buffy thanked her and waited for Clem to continue.
“I visited my aunt, as I mentioned and she had a package for me. It was from Spike. I’m supposed to read something to you all”. He looked at Angel with a frown . “Well, not all, just the scoobies”.
“It’s Ok, Clem, Angel can stay”. Buffy sat in the couch again next to her sister. Dawn eyes were full of tears at the mention of her lost friend. She missed the vampire terribly and was very sad that they didn’t have a chance to fix things before his death.
The others sat as well, although Giles and Xander kept looking at Drussilla nervously.
