Author's Note: This one shot inspired me to write a bit of a “spin-off” to it. In large part because I decided to include a “special guest” in the piece. So look out for that piece which will be posted as a separate story. At the moment, the spin-off is a one shot itself but I have thoughts about a second chapter and third chapter. Kinda depends on how it goes. Let me know what you think.

The tension in the room is off the charts.

How could it not be? All of them have had their lives turned upside down over the past several months. Some of them knew what was coming because they had Watchers to explain it to them, while others didn't and were plucked out of obscurity and told about their destiny. The stress they're all feeling was the least of their worries. Many of them were probably going to die if Buffy couldn't find a way to make them safe. Now here they all were in the basement of Buffy's house trying to do something other than think about their impending doom.

Sleep was the farthest from anyone's mind even though they knew they needed to get some or they were going to be tired for whatever training Buffy had planned. Things have gotten harder for all the Potentials. Buffy was pushing them harder and putting them in more and more danger. It made what they were going through all the more real. Yet at the same time it made things more exciting to think about what they could one day become. The power that one of them could one day use, just like Buffy was doing now. Having the stress and excitement all mixed together was why they couldn't sleep, whether some of them wanted to or not. Each of them could see it in the other's eyes as they looked around the circle they were sitting in.

Kennedy had her own ideas though about what to do.

“Is anyone else super freaked out?” Kennedy asks even with the answer being super obvious.

“Oh my god, yes.” responds Vi, a relieved look on her face that someone finally said it.

“Totally.” confirms Rona.

“I'm glad someone had the balls to say it.” offers Chloe.

The other Potentials in the room, Dominique, Molly, Annabelle, Shannon, Caridad and Amanda all seem to agree without actually saying the words.

“I don't think I could sleep tonight even if I wanted to.” admits Kennedy though more for effect than anything.

“Got that right.” suggests Rona.

“But, I mean... we kinda have to don't we? Buffy's probably gonna be working us pretty hard tomorrow.” Amanda says with concern.

“Yeah, I don't wanna be too tired.” insists Vi, obviously getting kinda worried.

There's a long pause as the tension builds at the idea. Once the tension gets to a point Kennedy thinks is enough, she makes her move.

“You know, there's kind've an obvious way for us to relieve tension. I used to do it a lot but I haven't done it much since we're all living together like this.” points out Kennedy, being slightly vague on purpose to get the question she wants.

“What's that?” Amanda wonders out loud.

Her question has Kennedy smiling at the idea. She moves from sitting cross legged to an open legged position on the floor, leaning back on her hands. Kennedy can't help but notice the curious look on several of the girls' faces when she does.

Rona and Kennedy smile at each other for a moment, then Kennedy returns her attention to her fellow Potentials. She settles on Molly who seems the most curious at both of them.

“Come on, don't tell me you're not curious.” says Kennedy suggestively.

After a short staring contest, Molly relaxes her legs, stretching them out in front of her. It's then that Kennedy shifts her focus to Dominique who it doesn't take much of a staring contest to convince her to lean back, somewhat mirroring Kennedy if still hesitant. The Potential with a plan does the same thing to Annabelle, Shannon, Caridad. All of them quickly getting more comfortable. Kennedy turns her attention to Vi, Amanda and Chloe who are obviously a lot more uncertain about this turn of events.

“You could always just watch if you're not sure.” Kennedy tries to reassure the three girls.

Amanda watches Kennedy for a moment, then looks around at the other Potentials, before similarly getting comfortable. Being left out has Vi seeing all the others who are obviously more comfortable than she is. It makes her sigh and then try to get a little more comfortable. That leaves only Chloe left out as Chao-Ann seems to get the idea despite the language barrier, shifting to her legs out in front of her. Chloe looks around at everyone before saying anything.

“I... I don't know... how.” admits Chloe, slightly embarrassed.

Kennedy gives her a sympathetic smile.

“Well, those of us who know can teach you. Just... watch what we do. In fact, since it was my idea, I'll go first.” offers Kennedy.

“Turn around.” orders Kennedy to the less experienced girl.

Molly, Shannon and Annabelle start taking off their pants as Caridad and Dominique go with their shirts. Chao-Ann gets the idea of what's happening and similarly pulls her shirt up. None of them even notice Buffy staring at them, until Kennedy looks up at her with something of a predatory grin. It's almost hypnotic thanks to the tension in the room. What's most powerful is the sexual tension of seeing so many women touching Kennedy looking forward to the relief they're about to experience. Buffy's focus is only partly broken by the dark haired lesbian Potential's hand reaching out to her.

“What's...” is all Buffy can say before Kennedy interrupts her.

A long silence happens between the two women with the only sounds being the gasps and moans of Vi, Rona, Chloe, Amanda, Shannon, Molly, Chao-Ann, Caridad, Annabelle and Dominique breaking it. Seeing it all has Buffy stepping forward a few steps towards the action. She does this a few times, partly curious but also uncertain.

“It's all right, we can make you feel real good.” reassures Kennedy to the slayer.

Buffy closes more of the distance between them, getting close enough to take Kennedy's hand, causing what feels like a surge of energy to flow through them. It makes Buffy inhale quickly at the intensity of the energy, breathing heavier as a result.

“Wow, that's...” Buffy doesn't finish what she's saying, instead licking her lips at the feelings going through her.

“Makes you want to join in, doesn't it?” asks Kennedy, mostly rhetorically.

The look on Buffy's face is what makes it rhetorical, her eyes travelling over Kennedy's naked form. She eventually starts looking around at the other Potentials, some of them giving her an intensely expectant look back. This has her biting her bottom lip at how hot it all is.

“Kiss me.” declares Kennedy, bringing Buffy's attention back to her best friend's girlfriend.

Buffy stares at Kennedy for a while before getting even closer to Kennedy. Almost like they're all on the same wave length, Amanda, Caridad and Dominique move out of the way to give Buffy the room to get as close as she wants, which she does. Kennedy pulls Buffy to her, taking her in her arms until they're pressed up against each other. Without saying another word, the dark haired lesbian Potential kisses the slayer.
