"Alonna?"
"Pardon?" Dedi asked in confusion.
"Hey, mate, you okay?" Spike asked, watching as Gunn attempted to stand. Gunn took a step forward, his eyes wide and rimmed with red from the night before. His legs wobbled dangerously and Dedi rushed forward to help him back into his seat.
"Sir?" Dedi asked nervously.
"Sorry." Gunn mumbled. "You just... Look like someone I once knew." He took a deep breath, his eyes blinking up at her face. "Identical faces."
"Sir, your eyes..." Dedi frowned, gently releasing Gunn's arm as she stepped away. Gunn let out a small groan, as though in pain, and rested his head against the wooden table. Dedi bit her lip in thought, before turning to Spike. "He's been drugged."
"No shit." Spike replied.
"Nectar." Dedi continued, ignoring Spike's snide comment. "It's common in certain rituals... I don't suppose you know where he managed to get a hold of such a thing?"
"Some library-"
"Dionysus." Dedi interrupted with a firm nod. "He'll be fine then, but he'll need something to push it out of his system. Stay here and watch him. I'll go make him some food."
"I'm really tired of people ordering me about." Spike pointed out as Dedi walked away. He turned to Gunn, who was peering up at him warily. "So, who's Alonna?"
"Sister." Gunn muttered. "She got vamped last year."
"Pity, that." Spike nodded. Gunn raised an eyebrow. "Oh, not that I care."
"I didn't think so." Gunn replied. Gunn managed to straighten up in his seat as Dedi return shortly thereafter with a plate of food. Spike almost looked envious as it was placed in front of Gunn. "Hungry?"
"Nah." Spike shrugged. "Thelsea's kind of holding me over. Much better then pig's blood." A smirk crossed Spike's place as Dedi stumbled, the cup of water in her hand tipping dangerously. She righted herself and stared at him with wide eyes. "Well, I'll just leave you two to your... Thing. Got me a carpenter to go sexually harass."
"He is very strange." Dedi commented when Spike left the room. She sat down across from Gunn, watching as he stuffed his face. "You know, you remind me of someone as well."
"Do I?" He asked, mouth filled with lettuce. Dedi grinned.
"Yes. My older brother." A giggle escaped her as Gunn began choking on his food.
"Where is he now?" Gunn asked. He could feel the food working some kind of magic on his body. The fatigue he once felt was slowly drifting away, being replaced with a kind of energy that often came after a long night's sleep. Gunn didn't know if it was from the food or not, but he was thankful.
"Ah, well, he joined the Atlantian army." Dedi replied.
"Army? You guys at war, or something?"
"Something." Dedi said. "Atlantis is a strong city, an advanced land. The province rulers have been... Fighting for years with the Athenians over property rights. Some days I believe they go too far. Atlantis may hold the top scientists and priests of the world, but we are not undefeatable. We shall see, I suppose, how we will come to an end."
"I didn't realize things were-"
"That bad?" Dedi asked. "No, I suppose not. I'm not very optimistic, so my views are much darker than some. It is no matter, as King Atlas III seems to feel it is not worthy of his attention. Tell me, where do you come from?"
In the other room, Xander was becoming a bit annoyed. No, actually, he had surpassed annoyed ten minutes ago. "Spike, put down the screwdriver."
"I don't think they have screwdrivers now days." Spike commented, continuing to fiddle with the oddly shaped piece of wood, with a small metal tip at the end.
"Trust me, it's a screwdriver." Xander replied with a tired voice that suggested that they had this conversation more than once. Possibly more than five times.
"What's this?" Spike asked.
"For the last time, that's a nail." Xander growled. He grabbed Spike by the lapels of his duster and shoved him into the nearest seat. Spike looked up at him with a small pout, making Xander grit his teeth. "Spike, if you let me finished this... Then maybe we can get that room after I'm done? And, you know, go get some... Sleep?"
"Sleep? Well, it is daytime now, so I suppose as a vampire I should get some sleep. And we've been up all night and most of yes-" Spike stopped, his blue eyes widening. "Oh. That kind of sleep."
"Yes, Spike." Xander said impatiently. "That kind of sleep."
"Well, bloody hell, mate!" Spike exclaimed. "What are you waiting for? Get to hammering."
"I plan on it." Xander replied. Spike raised an eyebrow at him, a slow grin sliding on to his face. Xander held out his hand, palm up, and ignored Spike's reappearing pout. "But you have to give me my nail back."
It took Xander another two hours to finish a one hour job. By the time he and Spike returned to the front of the inn to find Gunn and Dedi sitting next to one another giggling about something, Xander was ready to collapse. He praised every god he could remember when Dedi set a plate of food in front of him, along with a single brass key to a room.
"Food!" Xander gasped, shoveling the precious nourishment into his mouth. "Glorious food!"
"Hurry up." Spike ordered. Xander merely growled at him, before returning to his meal. With a sigh, Spike turned to Gunn. "You can stay out here for a few hours, yeah? I don't mind you being in the room while me and my pet here have a little fun, but you know how Xander is."
"Trust me, man, I don't want to see it." Gunn replied. "But, hey, Dedi told me a way to get to that Ganymede guy that took Wesley. Apparently there is this place called the Cavern of the Flesh to the north-west where the forest meets the mountain range."
"It is where Dionysus is often found, when he chooses to grace Atlantis with his presence." Dedi said with a tone of voice that clearly stated how much she did not approve of the god.
"Told you those drunks didn't know what they were talking about." Xander informed Spike. "South-west my ass."
"Actually, the only way to get to the Cavern of the Flesh is to go first south until you reach the woods, then follow the central stream through the woods northward." Dedi told them.
"Sounds like a plan." Spike nodded.
"Yes, well, Gunn has informed me of your... Issues with Artemis." Dedi smirked. "If you enter the woods you will no doubt be at her mercy."
"Lovely." Spike said snidely.
"I feel your pain." Dedi commented. Spike snorted. "No, really. Artemis is a fickle woman, at best."
"A woman after my own heart." Spike sighed, patting his chest and giving Dedi a smile.
"Whatever, Fangless." Xander snorted, setting down his fork and snatching up the key. "Come along, Spike, we have... Sleeping to do."
"Those two are very odd." Dedi commented.
"You haven't seen anything yet." Gunn replied.
Xander ignored the duo's last comments and quickly shoved Spike up a small flight of stairs and to a long landing above. There was a long hallway, carpeted by a thin rug. Xander glanced at the number on his key and unlocked room number four. Spike let out a small yelp as he shoved him inside, before locking the door behind him.
"Well, well. Feeling a bit rushed, are we?" Spike asked with a smirk.
"I want sex." Xander informed him, stripping down nude before starting in on Spike's clothes. He ignored Spike's hands which, instead of aiding in clothing removal, was fondling his ass. "I want sex, but we have to go save our friends. Before we save our friends, we'll need sleep. Hence fast sex, so we can sleep and then go save our friends. Once we save our friends we can have some really long and pleasurable sex."
"Sounds good." Spike agreed, grinning as Xander finally managed to pull off his Doc Martins and toss his jeans across the room, where they landed on a small statue of some Egyptian god.
"God, Spike, will you just shut up and have sex with me?" Xander whined, shoving Spike onto the bed.
Spike, thankfully, had no problem with following this particular order. He immediately pulled Xander into a long, tongue-filled kiss. His hands took control of Xander's body, stroking and twisting and pulling. Xander's moans filled the air, his pants warmed Spike's neck. Xander arched up against him, pulling their bodies flush against one another. Pleasure shot through them, causing their movements to speed up.
Xander rolled them, pushing Spike flat against the soft bed and straddling his hips. Spike's hand gripped his thighs. Xander leaned forward, bringing their lips together once more. After more kissing and hands stroking, Xander finally entered Spike, both hissing in pleasure. Xander thrusting started out slow, tormenting Spike with it's gentleness.
"Love, please." Spike begged, his voice rough against Xander's ear. "More."
Xander hips began jerking forward at a frantic pace, Spike's groans loud in his ear. His own moans echoed through the room, but he couldn’t identify them. All he knew was Spike, his voice and his body. And finally, after they reached completion, they curled up in the bed. Spike, as was expected, wrapped himself around Xander like a vice. With a smile, Xander drifted off to sleep, feeling safe in this strange world.
Wesley was scared. It was given, considering the situation he found himself in. He had tried to fight Ganymede and get to Gunn, but the immortal was as strong as his build suggested. Wesley was knocked unconscious, only to awaken in a small carriage. It was day out, the light streaming through the cracks in the cloth roof. His hands were bound by steel shackles and attached to the side of the carriage. His clothes were covered in mud and his back stung, as though he had been dragged across the ground for hours.
Shifting in his seat, Wesley scooted closer to the front of the carriage and peered through a small opening found there. He could see Ganymede sitting next to the driver, who was a tiny man dressed only in a loin cloth. Ganymede was singing softly to himself. The lecherous words drifted to Wesley's ears and the former Watcher quickly ignored them.
The gentle rocking of the carriage nearly caused him to drift back to sleep, but Wesley caught himself just in time. He focused instead on the ache in his wrists and sight of his bare feet. He had no idea as to what happened to his shoes. Thoughts drifted in and out of his mind, but Wesley couldn't grasp any of it. All he could think of was what could have happened to Gunn. Was he looking for him? Was he hurt and lost? Taking a deep breath, Wesley rested his forehead against the rough canvas of the carriage's side and prayed he would be found soon.
