How It Begins:
It was never the same, though no one would admit it or delve deeper. The friendships that seemed so solid and could stand the test of time… began to fray. Willow had been more than willing to forgive while Buffy laughed it off, it was Giles who was the most hesitant but even he eventually returned to his preconceptions.
You see magic no matter how small held consequences, the second chances were few and far in between. Magic that touched the soul and delved deeper, the type of magic that altered ones very DNA and core couldn’t be completely eradicated, something the Pack of the Hellmouth understood most perfectly.
They had been running without purpose, the very essence of the hyenas had been splintered and wild but the basics were there. It was obvious who was the Mother, the Primal, the One, the Queen of the pack of five whose responsibility was to hold court.
The Hyena in Xander’s mind had been young and immature, it had been cocky, and it wasn’t until the humans had tried to return things to normal that the essences had clicked. The spell washed over them all, bathing them in a cold tug of war that was both painful and numbing. Crouched above the body of a schoolmate they had all looked at the painted face of the warden, an unfamiliar man who tried to steal their very existence.
Eyes flashing an odd shade of yellow the groups’ anger was replaced with confusion as the weight of wrongness that had surrounded them from the beginning unraveled and molded with their very selves, making them one and not two separate entities. It was odd to explain how mere seconds affected their lives but the pack was finally whole in a way that it should have been. The fractured and splintered edges had been smoothed over, the holes in their minds were filled and the essence of the hyenas had changed them from possessed humans to something much grander.
In simpleton terms their souls were now woven with that of the hyena’s and with that came a life that could never be considered human, they would never be the same, their pasts were fogged figments and the future was something they would work at but in the end they were a singular pack, and packs remained as one.
Xander watched as the warden snarled, it was an abomination and with very little thought he was on his feet and tackled the man. He was tossed aside, his weakness was understood and his pack mates whined as they themselves felt the same. As one they watched as Buffy took care of the warden and Xander let out a high pitch sound pass his lips, ‘Retreat, den’. It was understood by the four as they each held one another up and stumbled out.
Life would never be the same and even though Xander smiled at the group he could feel the bonds of friendship with the two human girls take a back seat to what was important – his pack.
OoOoO
It had been a struggle; the pack had retreated to their den in an unused crypt deep in one of the cemeteries that was at the edge of the woodlands. Tiredly making his way through the maze of aged stone markers the very air around Xander was the typical ‘don’t fuck with me’ that had the odd creature leaving him alone, even the vampire’s knew well enough to keep out of the way.
Shoulder nudging the crypts stone door the sound of shuffling brought relief within him, his pack had arrived safely. Bodies pressed against him in welcome, noses breathing deep his scent as his hands reached out and stroked each one’s face being sure to feel they were all here together.
All eyes were wary and before long they settled on the piles of comforters that cushioned the dusty stone floor, the pillows made a sort of barrier around them as limbs overlapped limbs with Xander the center. Fingers stroked cloth and as one, they each undressed one another, fabric ripped, buttons flew, and soon skin rested against skin.
A healing sleep stole them from the cruel world they were strangers to. Unconsciousness kept them from school for another day and when they finally awoke it was to rumbling stomachs but neither wanted to move. “We must hunt.” Xander’s murmured words were muffled by Tor’s brown locks.
“Must we go back?” Heidi questioned as she shifted and snuggled closer on her sister’s thigh.
For a moment Xander contemplates, it would be so easy to remain hidden and live in a world of their own but something in him urged him to get up. There were groans of protest from the others but Xander moved to find a pair of his pants that had a missing button. “We need to return to school and pick up where we left off.”
Rhonda huffed as she sat up, arms settling on her bent knees, “We just can’t forget what’s happened. There’s no way I can go home, not after the things I’ve said.” Sadness crept in her eyes, “I won’t ignore instinct.”
The others agreed and Xander let out a sigh, “We won’t ignore our instincts but now we have enough sense to munch on larger prey than a small pig.” Snickering, “We’ll simply build a life; we can be like the musketeers minus the swords and stuff.”
Silently the pack stood and stretched, clothes were slipped on and as one they escaped their den to move in the dim light of the fading afternoon. Stalking game was difficult, so they made a silent decision to head towards the town and as one they surrounded a grown man who took one look around and ran for it. The chase was invigorating but short as the humans scream ended with a choked gargle and body dragged further into the shadows where it was consumed.
Returning to school had its own challenges. The pack had to reinsert themselves into a world of chaos and a mingling of scents that disoriented them at first. Whole and new they each had enough sense not to behave with too much suspicion as they had at first; such a show would undoubtedly cause too much attention to be brought to them.
While the pack was gradually learning to return at least somewhat to their human lives it was Xander who found himself struggling the most. How he could have found Buffy to be any sort of potential mate was unnerving. Sure she was powerful… but that was it. The brain wasn’t there, she was nothing but brute strength and when searching for a paramour you needed to be able to think for ‘just in case’ scenarios.
The feelings of friendship with Willow were there, he could feel fondness for the girl… but she was weak. It made his lip want to curl and flinch away from her touch. Weakness was a broken link that had to be disposed of… or eaten when no food was available. Giles was an interesting mix of both strength and weakness. The man had him watching him in interest. Xander felt the hyena within whisper to him in thought, the two of them pondered the what if’s of the watcher turned librarian… the potential was there only the man didn’t have a back bone when it concerned his charge.
Days flew into weeks as the school year commenced with its usual trouble. The pack had made themselves at home in the den with the entire place being scrubbed down, stolen furniture put in place, even the stone tomb of bone had been pushed by them all to the far end where it was used to hold random things.
All full from their latest hunt they lazed around not bothering with their homework when the oddest thing began to happen… the sleepiness that hooded their eyes churned into a heat that caught the two obvious pairings by surprise.
It began at the belly, almost as if the heat was thinly spread out to creep lower and tingled along their genitals. Heidi hissed as she pressed herself against Tor, their lower halves grinding only hindered by thin denim. Kyle bit into Rhonda’s bare shoulder drawing blood and a moan as pleasure had her shivering.
The two pairs didn’t question why their hands tugged at clothes frantically until nothing but heat enveloped them. Nails scratched, teeth bit, cocks hardened and leaked while pussies gushed and ached. Breaths mingled as bodies joined as one, deep and still before the building pleasure could wane hips thrust and cries echoed within the stone chamber.
Amongst the chaos on his back Xander arched his own hips, lidded eyes watched as the heady scent of arousal wrapped around him. Kicking off his pants his fingers wrapped around his straining cock and tugged on the swollen span of skin. He ached something fierce, he felt strangely hollow and something in him mourned but through his hazy sight he was mesmerized by the span of skin, the squelching sound of a joining, there was a hint of blood in the air and as his thumb brushed at the underside of his cock he let out a gasp.
All thought escaped him and Xander was lost in his own pleasure. Fist beating furiously Xander’s toes curled and as the cries echoing in the stone chamber reached a pinnacle his shout mingled with the chorus as a jet of white shot out of him and another. Eyes rolling he arched his back and gasped in desperate air. Body trembling it felt like every nerve in his body had fizzled and he was left a mess.
A hand plucked his own and he moaned as a mouth sucked on his fingers and the scrape of a tongue on his abdomen cleaning him had him twitching. It was when lips wrapped around his cock and swallowed did he believe that yes there was a god.
To be continued...
A/N: This is Slash... but there's hints of Het as well. It's been a while since I've watched the series so please bare with me. Yes, there will be MENTION of male pregnancy but never fear, you wont see it, and Xander won't suddenly get knocked up on prom night. I'm not good with the whole scooby slang, sorry!
