It's been a while since I read the original version, but it doesn't appear that different from the version I remember.
I think Ms. Post is a bit less rude to Giles, which is indeed an improvement. But other than that I can't really see what's changed.
Maybe the other parts will be much more heavily rewritten, because they might need it more. I remember it kinda bothering me that Buffy was also written as a closet super submissive.
Anyhow, a good first chapter, but that was also true for the first part (though this does seem a bit better).
