I have never seen anything like this storyline, and to be honest i was a little sceptical, but the fact that you are the author made me decide to give it a chance...and how glad I am that I chose to do so!
I didn't actually know how the story would work, but the fact that he appears to be able to hear her too makes it clearer.
As much as I love Spike, it's nice to see William once in a while.
Keep this I'mI'm loving the way it's heading.

Continue this soon please! I like how you set the background of the story, sometimes authors don't do that and you have to guess. I want to hear more about this mirror William guy...
