wow. i was so scared the whole time that it would be xander to die. it honestly didn't cross my mind that angelus would; that xan would get away. it occurred to me that maybe spike was gonna tell the others, when he and angelus were arguing at first. and then, of course, the ending of giles taking care of xan makes me think slashy things, as did the thought of spike helping him. but whatever. this was a terribly good story. well written, scary, painful, had a positive if not happy ending, and excellently narrated. be sure to keep writing.~
