Hi,I'm alwayry lry leery of fics 'based on' books/films etc because I feel it's kind of an easy way to 'get' a story. However saying that, I'm really enjoying this so far. I can see Spike but Buffy's a little more difficult in our heroine. I haven't read the original so I have no idea how close you've based this, but its certainly interesting. Why do men always leave / let us go for our own good? We are perfectly capable of making up our own minds. Aren't we? :-)
