Reviews for Shattered Souls

Willow can be a very giving, thoughtful person.... when she gets out of her own way. Yes, if she gives it enough time, "Resolve Face" will even work on herself. She really makes an effort. But sometimes she tries too hard and over-compensates.
And Buffy has now given voice to an inner-truth. She may choose to try to hide, but someone is watching. And waiting? I still cannot weight all the factors as to who might reach Buffy first: Tara or Anya. But its going to be damned fun to find out. Thanks again for a Great Read.

And Xander did grow up a bit, huh?

Hello all. First off I apologize to everyone and of course to `kinetic-kid` for my prior rambling. Thank you for ignoring that disjointed rant and continue to produce a Very Wonderful Story. I read 7, 8, and 9 Sunday, but before writing this review I've spent the last couple hours going over all of it again from the top.

I'm on the edge of my seat wondering who might take "the Revelation" worse; Willow or Xander? We all can see Willow might become more than angry with Anya, but Xander could surprise us all. He thought he was really doing something right (idiotic HOW he did it, yes) by not subjecting them to repeating history as he sees it. So... Anya is hurting and vulnerable. He understands that. She is Trying to recover a sense of self. And she happens to find sympathy, and understanding from Tara. And they're dating Each other.

    "Tara??"

Oh, the wheels that would be spinning in his head. Think about it. He has someong else in his world that he saw go through their period of heart-break and loss, make mistakes along the way, try to begin to recover... now, who was that? Oh, wait, it was his good friend Willow. Til she meet Tara MacClay.
And Willow knows how sweet and good-natured, how grounded she is. How pure. She's not going to think Anya doesn't have another, deeper, motive where a heart should be? And how is this going to hurt Dawn, and Buffy.

Sorry, maybe you should muzzle my fingers.

I love how you've handled the girls' interactions and I simply love the pacing with this story. Doesn't need sex to be a good soap-opera. Thanks again.

p.s. do we know Why the ~Name/Email~ boxes are not working like they should?

poor Buffy, doesn't think she should ruin Tara/Anya new relationship, but if she only knew. If she keeps acting like this, Tara is going to break her foot off in her ass.

First reaction: "Aw, how cute." For Tara and Anya, really an odd pairing, but it seems to work fine. I like how you're playing Buffy, all jealous-like. Very amusing. Please continue

This is for Doug, in case he reads the reviews... You lost me after the third line. But I just have a few things to say... First off, this is Fan Fiction.. Meaning that we take characters out of context from canon. Who in their right mind would even think Buffy/Tara/Anya would EVER become a couple in the show? HELLO!! it's entertainment, and if I want Spike to be an asshole, he's an asshole. If I want him to lay down and lick the slayer's toes... he'll do it!! SNORT That's the prerogative of the 'author's' whim... and trust me I am using AUTHOR very, very, very loosely. Because I'm just someone that enjoys writing, and I post the shit in case there might be someone else out there that enjoys it. I'll also post this at the beginning of the next chapter, for those of you that actually read the reviews!! LOL Fan Fiction, people. That's all it is, having fun with characters someone else created, it isn't meant to be serious, it's meant to be entertaining and fun! Thank you!! Kinet-Kid

Well, thank you for this. I don't mind if things start out slow, just as long as everything is handled in their own context. Can't wait for more.
I had read 1 - 3 over the course of a couple nights by last Saturday, and catching sight that 6 was now ready last night I went "Score!". But...
We all had a hint things were to go downhill for Spike in 3, and with 4 and then 5, well that I need to speak out about.
As season 5 developed sure there were a few moments that still revealed a unrepentent, shallow side of the vampire, but with the end of "The Gift" they were all hurt by the loss. With "Bargaining" and "Life After" and some other scenes that trend continues. "OM,WF" lit a fuse. Yes, "Smashed/Wrecked" is the turning-point, but your characterization shows him to have been nothing more than a heartless cold-blooded mercenary (no pun intended!!!), who we can rightly guess, privately still ENJOYS daydreaming of any number of merely hurtful, through various painful, onto brutality nightmarish, horrible events to happen to the gang all through the summer???
I can see both Tara's (yours and canon) as getting `Blood and Smokes` for him because thats the way she is. Just because she wants to. Go against her, she would have a stiff penalty to hand out as well. And we've seen how Xander hands out his opinions... like when he lied to Buffy in "Becoming, pt 2". Or him and Spike in "Spiral", with the lighter-scene.
Lets say `what if...`. Xander seems to have his trouble go One Two Three. Over the summer, construction being dangerous as it is, something went wrong and his leg gets pinned when some materials collapse, sticking him with a stupid cast from heel to hip. This after having a spat with Anya in the morning, about what (say it with me) - The Ring. Or if he is really unlucky she starts in on the unannounced-wedding. Well part of that was because he woke up fitful and cranky. Why? Well, This After he had his part of the prior nights' patrol not come together... for him. Long story short: he had a bad day. And with Anya miffed (Tara and Willow figured to take her for a nice girl's night out, not realizing just what they're getting themselves into, ha ha), and with how his thoughts are aimless while channel-surfing, its just easier to yell "Come in" at the knock at his door. A half-second later his brain goes '...wait, I live in Sunnydale, right? Oh, I'm so dead...', then...
"I swear, Harris, that child really needs some form of gainful, energy-taxing enterprise. A hobby. Perhaps a Marathon, or five. All I did was comment on how sometimes Nature, just as with the differences of the seasons, look at summer and winter, one will see various traits and features muted in one generation truly bloom in another. And with this as our basis we can look upon the Universe and KNOW Chaos itself can run rampant, why else should some "Britney" want this Justin bloke to chase after her, when she could entice young Prince William? And be the better for it? Gods, she and her friend Janice screamed. Lil' Bit pushed her for the kitchen, saying `Mint and Mocha Carmel Fudge, the whole thing`, stood Very Still, took a breath, turned and gave me eyes calm and somber. I turned tail and ran. So, took my little piggies to market, passed through the 'vid store, and called the Watcher. Told him I got wind of a minor evil and had to hither and yon, meaning someone was without adult supervision tonight, and they were headed for the Ice Cream. A little beer with lets see, 'Weekend at Bernie's', 'The Wild Geese', and of course Monty and the Cup. When we need something stronger then we have Mr. Johnnie Walker. And yes, I brought my own flavoring. Oh go back, was that Arsenal on a corner-kick?"
Yeah, he'd stand up. And Joss has given us a feel of the man in the monster. Yours doesn't have it. Couldn't and wouldn't want it.

You wouldn't guess I've been at this run-on for over six hours??? Well, I did walk away for a snack and some telly with a friend.
Ford from `Lie to Me`, Angelus in `Passion`, Ethan Rayne... because. Warren Meers is why there Should be Vengeance Demons. Spike is a Vampire, and Warren is Human. Big fucking deal.
Now, Xander running from marriage. Anyone will agree with that. What will yours use as the excuse? Later. Now to read the other reviews, finally.
