Reviews for Rules of Engagement

There have been several stories involving Buffy's suicide from grief over the loss of Spike, and, if not unique in this respect, your story is still well written and entertaining. I cannot get past the fact, however, that such an action is simply not consistant with the character of Buffy as created by Whedon and elishlished in the series. Certainly, she jumped off that tower at the end of season 5, but that was an act of self sacrifice, not simple suicide. The closest Buffy ever came to suicide as an act of giving up was when she retreated into her own mind, again in season 5, and that was, I believe, more an act of retreat than one of complete surrender. The Slayer mentality, whichever Slayer we speak of, simply cannot grasp the concept of surrender. This is illustrated over and over in the TALES OF THE WATCHERS series, which have the sanction of Whedon and Mutant Enemy, so can be accepted as canon. I know this is nit pickinut Iut I believe that the fan fiction writer should abide by the established personality of the character as set down by the series. Again, i found your story enjoyable and well written, and my points as submitted are strictly my own and no one elses. Keep up the good work.

Interesting. I really wasn't expecting the ending. It made it more... powerful, I guess is the word.
