i am so so so glad that Buffy decided to be there for him but not be with him. if he gets better just for her his recovery won't last. i'm glad for her choices, and for his acceptance of them.

and i am so so glad you updated again so soon :)

I was very happy when I came home today and found another update.
2 in 2 days. I am in heaven. And the Buffy - Spike dynamic is pct.
    ct.
Sure she is there for him, supporting him every step of the way, but he is
holding his own now, which he couldn't do before. I am also very pleased that she
is not going to leave his side. Even though I am a big adovcate of the tough love
approach, she should be there for him. I would have liked to have know how he
felt when he finally got rid of the remaining H he had stashed, cause Buffy there or not
that couldn't have been easy for him. And good for Buffy for telling him like it is!
He needed a swift kick in the arse, badly.
I will surely be checking back to see how this all plays out.
    I can't wait.

    Thanks for the update.....

And it is about time that they work it out together....cause Spike needs someone that will get him to believe he is worth loving....and then maybe he can come to like himself if not love himself enough to do what he needs to make himself happy.....

    Kimber

    Go Buffy....

i'm in love with this story. now if only you wouldn't make me wait so long in between updates i'd be perfectly happy. :)

you do a beautiful job with spike's pain. and you paint an accurate picture of dealing with addiction.

I was so happy when I saw this updated. I actually let out a 'Squee!' at my computer screen.
s sos so pissed at him when he started drinking like that. Its like Wake up! Your just making it worse for yourself you big jackass! But that was the point I suppose. All the same I was very pleased that he came clean to Buffy about everything. And I'm glad that Buffy is going to see him to, a little bit of a helping hand never hurt anyone. I do hope that he doesn't rely on her too heavily. He made a good step on leaving and trying to get things right, hate to see him digress. But I have high hopes that I won't be disapointed.
    Thanks for the update!

I gotta tell you that part where it never occured to him to get rid of what he had found,
that got me good. It was so true and so heartbreaking.
I hope he gets back to Buffy soon. I'm all for the angst, but damn! It's just breaking my heart.
I am just simply in love with this story.
The only thing that is gonna suck is that it has to end.

    I just read ch 25.

I love the fact that spike wants to find himself without dependin on anybody... that's something that buggered me for the longest time now. And I think it's a beautiful way to give him and buffy a clear start.
I love this story, though it had it's 'long' moments. I hope you write more soon... well, Im off readin 26!
    keep goin!

Well at least he's getting help, although I still think that Buffy would be an ass to wait for him. She should be there as a fr but but I also think that she should distance herself from him. We all need to get rid of the negative influences in our lives. Believe me I speak from experience.

ohhh this chapter hurts my heart, but i love it. and that moment where he puts the baggie under the other things and it doesn't occur to him to get rid of it...god i know that moment. well done. i'm glad spike is getting the help he needs and that buffy is supporting him through it.

I love this story, more than love it. All of the characters are still so very much themselves despite being taken out of a world with literal demons.
At more than one point I have had tears in my eyes.
I just can't say enough how much I am enjoying this.
I will be waiting with bated breath.

I'm glad someone made that point. I've understood everyone's anger, I was pissed off writing it, but I hope this chapter clears some of these issues up. Relapse is almost inevitable for anyone dealing with addiction, and Spike's not that special. Drugs are hard, I got that from experience, sex is harder, I got that from seeing it happen to friends. Spike's on his way, but no one's ever given him the help he needs. Allowing people to rely on you as they try to recover from addiction merely substitutes one thing for another. But, he's just figured that out. About damn time.
