Reviews for You Should See Him Naked, I Mean Really

Well, that chapter was interesting- certainly NOT funny, whoever said that... Spike definitely has some issues, I think. I don't think he's a rapist/mysoginist or anything like that, but getting upset like that when she didn't immediately say "I love you" back is a little disturbing. The bottle thing was an honest mistake, but I'd say those two seriously need a safety word or something the next time they get all kinky. Also- I don't blame Buffy for bepisspissed. Her friends were pretty harsh to take his side so totally. After all, lots of abusive people say i love you and i'm sorry afterwards, too. (and no- I don't think Spike was being abusive in the story, but Buffy's friends certainly don't know him well enough to know that for sure). The way I read it things got a little out of hand but no harm was actually intended. The name calling was a bit harsh (I wouldn't get off on that myself) but some people do. If it had really bothered Buffy I think she would have made it clear. Anyways, I really liked the chapter. Can't wait to see what happens when they talk. Want to hear Spike's side of the story.

if a guy did that to ME "i could never love you, you're beneath me " wouldn't even begin to cover it, and im just talkink about what he said. i hope Buffy gives him the hadest time, no pun intended, cause he really is a stupid jerk. (i'm a spuffier BTW but this guy's an ass) anyways i ike this story a lot, hope to see more of it soon. and my god! where the hell did you get that botle idea?

It's about time something went wrong with creative sex. In stories, nothing ever goeong.ong. Anyway, interesting chapter. More please.

Just so that you know, I was not criticizing you as an author, nor trying to dictate the direction of your story. I also read every single line, so I was not making any sweeping generalizations, and I certainly was not trying to lecture you. I will continue this in your LJ if that's ok, so I don't take up room here, and some of the stuff I wanted to explain is more personal.

Check me out just reading and reviewing and being entirely unaware of the hoohah!.
I'm a gobshite so I'm gonna stick my two pennorth in here. If anyone wants to disagree, I welcome the discussion but please read ALL of my little diatribe first.
I agree with Dahlia to the point that I don't think him saying 'I love you' should be a cure-all for what happened. However, that's not all he said. He also apologised profusely and tried to explain that his intent was not to REALLY hurt her.
The way I read it, he was hurt angry gry (and no, I'm not saying that excuses his behaviour or that Buffy should have immediately forgiven him) and what with the games they had been playing a line got blurred. The way I read it when the 'bottle incident' first started, he was saying nasty things, but Buffy was getting off on it a little(probably cos of the mindset they were both in from what had gone before) . It's no new thing for some women to find 'demeaning/degrading' things a turn on.

IMHO things just got way out of control. Spike wasn't thinking and did something VERY stupid. He was sorry afterwards (immediately that he realised something was really wrong), he wasn't saying 'you deserved it bitch' or laughing at her. I honestly read his remorse as genuine too, not the kind of faux remorse often found in abusive men, who will feign regret to get the woman back where they want them. Also the way I read her friends, maybe they were a little too quick to condemn her and defend him BUT they did point out that he seemed genuinely sorry.

All that said, I don't blame Buffy avoiavoiding him, and I don't share Cordy's vihat hat she was a heartless bitch - but thenon'on't often share Cordy's views on a lot of things. This is a controversial area but I hope my interpretation was close to what you intended to put across with this part Sluggie.
Like you said, people are always going to see things differently (liked the priest/reverend analogy - worked well for me). However, I personally don't think you are a 'sucky' author. Of course I myself may have misunderstood what you wanted to convey with this part.

Ooh poor Buffy - that would be sooo embarassing. Poor Spike too, bless him he just did it all wrong. I'm glad Buffy admitted she missed him and maybe loved him. As for the title of the next chapter - making up certainly is the best part of fighting and I can't wait to see them making up hehe:D

A/N: Well either I suck as an author and didn't convey what I wanted to convey or some people are taking this way too personally. Read my Live Journal. I just had to point out that while you're entitled to your opinion, it's just that, your opinion. Spike is neither a mysoganist nor a rapist in this story and I should know, I'm the author and I did not write this chapterh thh that in mind at all. I didn't intend for it to be funny either. It appears I have garnered both reactions however. I feel like an Independent stuck between a Democrat and a Rebublican. Eek! I guess it just goes to show you how two different people can come away with polar opposite views of the same thing. Kinda like a Catholic Priest and a Protestant Reverand's interpretation of the Bible for lack of a better comparison. :-)

For as much as I may have potentially offended anyone, I'm sorry but I need to get this off my chest as I have had it happen a lot seeing as I write about tough subjects and issues in my fiction, As a victim of domestic violence and sexual assault myself, I get offended myself when people try to "lecture" me about it. I've got the t-shirt. I'll skip the lecture and if you can't understand where I'm coming from, I'm sorry again. There is no rule book for victims and how they behave or feel after such things occur. Yeah, there are reported general behaviors, that vary between individuals, mind you but every woman (or man for that matter) deals with it in their own way. It's not fair to lump everyone in the same category and say, well because *I* feel this way about this thing that happened to me, *you* should feel the same about what happened to you. It doesn't work that way. That being said, this chapter wasn't about rape anyway so none of what I just said applies. If you think it was then you've read something into it that I didn't intend to be there. Again, my suckiness as an author.

I like to write about stuff that happens in the real world or has happened to me or people I know. I like addressing tough issues and I take flack for that but I't 't write complete and total fluff because I don't think I'm capable of it. It's just not me. Please keep in mind that the context of a situation and the mitagating factors or circumstances surrounding certain events can play a big part in the overall view of a situation. Don't just grab a line or two and not take into consideration the rest because that's taking it out of context.

Oooh, he better make this apology good. I know what happened wasn't what he intended, but I had a boyfriend freak out on me and do some horribly demeaning similar things (none of which, thank god, put me in the hospital), and the humiliation is beyond belief, which Buffy's friends seemed to ignore. All that seemed to matter to them was that Spike told her he loved her. Love is all well and good, but it doesn't justify what he said or did. I'm not saying Buffy shouldn't love him, but damn, they really have no idea of the pain and humiliation (or feeling of violation), both personally and publicly, that Buffy experienced. Obviously I have personal issues wrapped in here, but it's just not all as simple as an 'I love you' can fix. *gets off soapbox*
