Dear lord, how did you write this?! I'm in awe. You start with the darkest of dark stories, a real despair-violence-pain-and-torture tale, but by the end it's a story that inspires so much hope, it makes your heart sing. How the hell did you do that?! (Sorry, my awe tends to be expressed with some cussing.) This is fantastic writing, the best Vamp Willow/Tara Wishverse fic I've read so far (and I've been reading quite a few). And the amazing thing is, Vamp Willow stays Vamp Willow. She's not gone Angel, she's still vicious inside, soulless ... and she loves Tara, and somehow Tara can and does really love her even if she's that way. And we all believe that without a doubt. That's how powerful your writing was, specially in the way you shaped Willow, Tara and Buffy as characters.
You also have a way of - I don't know how to put this better - solidifying regret. There's this one scene which is truly brilliant: the point where Wishverse Buffy "sees" the other world Vamp Willow once visited (the real BVTS world), where she and Willow were friends, where she *protected* Willow. That scene is short, but it makes you feel how wrong everything is in a flash, when you put that against how Buffy tortured Willow in this world.
I could go on and on, but let me just end with this: This is a fantastic piece. Your writing is awesome. Thank you for sharing this with us.

That was probably the most inspiring story that I have ever read. I mean it! I was extremely touched and moved by the last chapter. The lemons weren't half bad either. If there was one thing that I would change, it would have to be the whole intestine jump-ropey thing. That was just wrong.

Now here's why this story is so fucking brilliant ('scuse my French, y'all, but I feel the need to be emphatic): you have taken the Wishverse and made it your own. You have so many beautiful details that add realism to the story. I love the relationship between Faith and Buffy, between Puppy and Willow, and especially the trust between Tara and Willow. It's all so gorgeous. I think I might swoon. You've created a world that's rough and hard and mean and 'red in tooth and claw', but at the same time everyone has a chance. They all make mistakes, and bad things happen, but in the end there's hope for a recovery. Maybe. Unless more mistakes are made. And I know, even though the fic's over, that these people are going to continue with their fractured, messy lives, and more mistakes will be made, and it'll all be awesome because the 'verse is real.

I wish it were longer. Anyanka? Hear that? Huh?

Dude, this is so frickin' awesome. Your wishverse is awesome, your characterizations are awesome, and...it's just--really--um--well, awesome.

    Just thought I'd say.

    Greetings,

This is a very good start and a serious work of fiction. You have developed the character motivations smoothly through each scene. What is especially noteworthy is the clear message that a being with a soul can be driven to heinous acts and one without a soul can choose a path of good.
Buffy's losses that she recites with each torturous act show a person who once loved and was loved can become merciless.
Vamp Willow's responses, remembering the things in Tara's room, comparison of her torture to when she played with puppy, show that a soul may not be necessary for compassiona and love.
Can Buffy be redeemed before she goes too far?
Can Vamp Willow sustain her new found perspective in spite of the demonic urgings within?
Would Tara Kill a human to protect a demon.
I certainly hope answanswer these questions soon.

    thank you
    -mike

So the best Vamp Willow characterization I've ever had the pleasure to read. Not too loopy, just loopy enough. And, hey, well written! That's always of the good. I'll be loving seeing more of this.
